Spotted some great pieces in the Balenciaga Fall 2013 Capsule collection by Alexander Wang. I am utterly in love with the dress above (as well as the boots) and I just love the girly shapes and the androgyne styling. The way of styling a dress over a pair of trousers is just so effortless cool and something I must do for the fall. I have a hard time feeling comfortable in dresses (always feels to girly in some kind of way) and by styling the feminine garment with a pair of slinky trousers will definitely make me wear it more. I am also a big fan of the way Wang has worked with mixing materials together, like satin, velvet and crepe-twill, all in the same hue is such a beautiful way of creating cool pieces – and nobody knows it better than Wang. Double thumbs up for the new creative director!

Black or white
Anja Rubik is featured in the latest issue of Vogue Turkey. The magazine which is quite a rookie on the market (since 2010) deliver amazing and inspiring editorials every month. One of them is this this one with Anja Rubik showing of two simple looks. I love the fact of styling an all black look, black on black, as well as the white on white look. It is very effect full. Here above Anja is wearing pumps in black and white from Christian Louboutin, as well as Nicolas Ghesquiére for Balenciga, Sportmax and Céline. The silk satin tank in black/navy shade is Céline and just stunning. Wouldn’t mind it at all… The editorial is shot by Cuneyt Akeroglu.
The Céline dress
I have so been curious to see when this amazing satin dress from Céline S/S13 would be featured in an editorial. In Numéro Magazine issue April 2013 model Aymeline Valade is styled in this beauty (the white satin on with black mesh details), along with other cool pieces from Nicolas Ghesquière for Balenciaga, Ricardo Tisci for Givenchy, Louis Vuitton, Dior and Fendi, all styled by Franck Benhamou. I love have the looks turned quite raw with just adding the boots by Givenchy. Richard Bush is the photographer for this editorial.
Denim
Just spotted this editorial in Numéro Tokyo April 2013 issue. I am having a soft spot when it comes to denim editorials, I just love it. Simple, cool, classic, and most important of all – so inspiring. Carolyn Murphy is styled in denim on denim paired with cool statement accessories, like the Saint Laurent S/S13 felt hat and leather harnesses. The editorial is photographed by Nino Munoz.
Milan Fashion Week
So Milan Fashion Week just kicked off and there has been some big names showing their collection already like Gucci and Fendi. One collection that I found very cool was the Max Mara Fall 2013 show. The models were dressed in camel from top to toe as well as mustard tones, black and grey – all styled with flat comfy sneakers. The sneaker has grown from a trend to a shoe to count on, even on the runway! I think it’s amazing. My absolute favourite looks from the show were the 70s inspired ones with the long hair, slight wavy hair styled with a pair of big framed sunglasses – combined with loose fitted pants in either velvet or satin paired with the v-neck jackets and kimonos. Nice!
Get the look
I totally fell head over heels with this previous editorial, ‘New York’ from the latest Vogue Paris. That is why I had to throw some things together to re-create a mix of the looks in the editorial. I just love the idea of taking on the Grunge-style in a bit more sophisticated way. Like pairing slippers with a classy trench coat or an elegant suit jacket in satin. Or giving the pleated/checked pieces an lighter feeling, like the Dries Van Noten shirt and trousers in checked wowen silk. Mixing heavy materials like wool and denim, with luxurious ones like silk and mesh, creates a flawless and very wearable look. On top left you’ll find: trousers from Theory, silver metallic jacket from Rochas, crepe and silk-blended satin tuxedo jacket from Guilietta, suede waist-belt from Alaïa, slippers with fur details from Céline S/S13, socks from Falke and leopard gloves from Alaïa.
Christmas outfit
Wouldn’t mind looking like this today at Christmas Eve: striped long-sleeved cotton top from Proenza Schouler, red burgundy pants from The Row, white coat from Baserange, see-through pumps ‘Bis-un-Boit’ from Christian Louboutin, a white small shoulder bag from The Row, a pair of goregous earrings in rosé-gold from Repossi and an id-bracelet from Maison Martin Margiela.
Flared
Wow! I totally dig these Stella McCartney Carlton high-rise woven pants from her Resort 2013 collection. I love that they are flared, and I’ve actually been looking for a pair in black! There are tons of denim ones out in the stores, but no really cool pair of black trousers. Love to style them with a oversized wool sweater and a pointy pair of heels. Hotness!
The Balance act
A while back I got myself a pair of N.B – yes, a pair of New Balance sneakers. They are so comfy it’s ridiculous. Anyway, I just spotted this editorial in the latest issue of Vogue UK November 2012. Joan Smalls is styled in a pair of N.B sneakers – and in that perfect everyday look – a great chunky knit paired with baggy leather trousers or a maskuline coat. Super nice! The editorial is photographed by Karim Sadli.
Pink and red…
…again. Obssesing over those two colours for the moment. Got some cool red bags from Céline in my closet but I really need to invest in some nice pink pieces, like this sheer shirt above, from Chloé. Love the styling with the high-waisted trousers and the slick ponytail. You’ll find the blouse here, on sale!
