Stella McCartney FW13

Stella McCartney Fall and Winter 2013Plaid is apparently one of the hottest trends for this fall along with the girly grunge look. Stella McCartney showed of a feminine, but yet masculine, collection in Paris the other day. She is the master of playing with silhouettes from the both genders – and implementing them into beautiful looks. I believe is not one of her strongest fall and winter collections. I usually jump high for her coats and outerwear but I was disappointed this time. I do like her over sized felt and wool jacket in plaid (above) but over all the coats weren’t mind blowing. Underneath I picked some highlights in details.

Céline FW13

Céline RTW Fall 2013 blueCéline RTW Fall 2013 green and greyWow, the coats! I am absolutely melting for all these beautiful coats. Phoebe Philo is the master of coats, no doubt. In this collection she has worked with wool as the main material and we can spot wool not only in the ready-to-wear pieces but also as the main material in the bags and clutches. The tones are very neutral – navy blue, black, off-white, grey, olive and military green are all combined together in perfection. I have some favourites, like the navy peacock coat and the knee-high boots as well as the gorgeous ankle boots. When it comes to hair and make-up I love the simple styling with the hair in a knotted pony-tail, simple but yet so elegant showing of the models bare backs. A beautiful and sophisticated collection that focus on what Philo does best.

Theyskens’ Theory

Theyskens' Theory Fall 2013 catwalkI am almost speechless because this was an amazing collection. I am just blown away by the simple, stripped down looks with that perfect straight hair and the bare legs combined with sleek gloves. I loved the skirts and the boots! That look is going to be my number one look for fall 2013. The materials and styles were mixed-up in perfection – v-necked cardigans combined with pleated leather skirts, over-sized knitted jumpers with miniskirts and pony-hair shorts with the boots. The collection was not all about the skirts and knitwear, I would definitely say that among the highlights were the white heavy coat and the wool trousers.

Get the look

Get the look - Vogue Paris Feb 2013 GrungeI totally fell head over heels with this previous editorial, ‘New York’ from the latest Vogue Paris. That is why I had to throw some things together to re-create a mix of the looks in the editorial. I just love the idea of taking on the Grunge-style in a bit more sophisticated way. Like pairing slippers with a classy trench coat or an elegant suit jacket in satin. Or giving the pleated/checked pieces an lighter feeling, like the Dries Van Noten shirt and trousers in checked wowen silk. Mixing heavy materials like wool and denim, with luxurious ones like silk and mesh, creates a flawless and very wearable look. On top left you’ll find: trousers from Theory, silver metallic jacket from Rochas, crepe and silk-blended satin tuxedo jacket from Guilietta, suede waist-belt from Alaïa, slippers with fur details from Céline S/S13, socks from Falke and leopard gloves from Alaïa.
