Joseph Altuzarra presented one of his best collections so far for Spring 2014. Striped slinky shirts, raw denim, embroidered details, gold and silver metallic lamé paired to perfection with simple jersey pieces in melange grey and white. The New York based designer who has his studio at Howard Street in New York had taken inspiration from Greece and the mythology of the women in the Greek culture.
I have been thinking of Birkenstock sandals for weeks! I can’t stop thinking about them, but everytime I have walked in to a store, I have just been hesitating. I mean, they are so ugly they are cool, and sure, ever since Céline showed their pieces they have been hot stuff. When I walked home a week ago in East Village I spotted a girl wearing the in white and they were so cool. So I might go with a white pair, especially since I have a pair of Marni sandals that are almost the same in black… The one above, that Kate are wearing are the classics, but I might go with the ones underneath – I like the cross-over and they don’t have as much ‘hospital’ vibe as the other ones…
Self Service Magazine’s ‘Daily Obsessions’ are on my mind for the moment. Shoes, bags and accessories – a perfect mixture of the things that give you cravings. From the top: sandals by Valentino, white clutch from Alexandre Vauthier and bangles from Hermès. The snapshots are taken by Columbine Goldsmith and Nickolas Lorieux.
I know there has been a lot of Resort collections on the blog lately, but there has been so many good ones! I am absolutely overwhelmed by the spot on styles and pieces, not only by the brands I am usually obsessing over. The latest one to show is Masion Martin Margiela, and I am usually not a big fan, but this collection really surprised me. I love the white look above with the peacock coat, the knee-lenght of the dress and the thigh-high boots. I am all about simplicity and the feeling of effortless cool, and I think MMM nailed it in this collection. I mean, I definitely want that black jumpsuit (crepe-de-chin top with trousers) right now!
I have got black, white and cream on my mind. Above you find a mixture of Pre-fall 2013 as well as Spring and Summer pieces. Black leather motorcycle jacket from Acne Studios, white wide trousers from Zara (now in store), striped shirt from Dries Van Noten, creme-white shoulder bag, ‘VaVa Voom’ from Valentino, white pumps from Gianvito Rossi, gold necklace Lindsey Adelman, cropped black top from Saint Laurent and ‘Cora’ cropped suit pant from Acne Studios.
Okey, I just love this look above from the Chloé Resort 2014 line, is absolutely amazing! As I mentioned before, yellow is the color for Spring 2014. The entire collection is beautiful, I have got tons of looks on my mind for the spring – like the pin striped denim trench coat paired with the denim boyfriend jeans, the ankle long striped skirt styled with a simple white shirt, and the wide trousers (!) both in white and navy paired with flats. Oh, my the flats are gorgeous, especially the slippers… The creative director for Chloé, Clare Waight Keller, stated that the trousers in this collection gives you room for her “barefoot attitude” – a statement I totally fell for. Waight Keller wanted the proportions to be just right, and sandals, as well as slippers, feels super hot to pair to both a chill and more dressed-up looks for just that perfect relaxed proportions.
The Resort lines for 2014 has been very strong and I have seen some amazing pieces and combinations. First of all, there were some fabulous looks from the Marc Jacobs Resort line of 2014 that I just want to copy straight away. I do not usually fall head over heels over his collection but in this Resort line there were some strong looks. Among others these three above with pieces in silk, satin and fur styled with underwear and my favorite accessory for the moment – flats. Max Mara is also a brand that delivered. In their Resort line I had two looks which were my favorites which was the head-to-toe black and the head-to-toe white suit. Kind of dig the idea of pairing a cap to the more dressed-up-look, as well as styling the fur scarf, underneath the suit jacket.
Another brand with a strong Resort collection was Adam Lippes. Simple and effortless looks with that gorgeous feminine touches, such as satin robes and kitten-heeled slip-in’s. But there were also pieces that embrace masculinity with wide trousers and silk pants with sporty influences. I love these combinations and I am absolutely crushing over those heels for the moment… Wouldn’t mind them both in black and white (!).
