I must say I am starting to dig these boots from the Saint Laurent Fall 2013 collection. I wasn’t a big fan of the pimped-out ones when seeing the collection for the very first time. Somehow I just couldn’t cope with the fact that such a classy, timeless and fabulous brand as Saint Laurent when a bit mainstream and ‘hard-core’ showing of stuff that I basically could find at, well, Topshop (nothing wrong with Topshop though). I do love the fact that I have seen a lot of cool, timeless and classic pieces from the Saint Laurent in stores and web-shops. Apparently Hedi Slimane has created a ‘Permanent Collection’ that will be available all year around and which include pieces like leather jackets, denim, t-shirts and duffle bags that are all a great foundation in a wardrobe. I do like the idea of dividing the brand in such collections and lines. For the this campaign the creative director has captured Danish Freja-Beha Erichsen in the new Saint Laurent store in Paris (and the collection was a celebration of this new opening). Anyway the boots in this editorial is a pair I wouldn’t mind at all for this fall. By the way, great looks in this editorial from the latest issue of Vogue China, June 2013. Eliza Cummings looks effortless smart captured by Daniel Jackson.
Topshop’s more high-end brand, Topshop Unique, has been well-appreciated among fashionistas for almost 24 seasons now. Since the popularity of the line Topshop Unique is expanding and for next year there will not only be a Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter collection but also a pre-fall and resort line. A selection of evening wear and accessories will be featured including georgette silk dresses and tailored jackets. As far as I am concerned, the first small resort collection that will be released in November, looks really nice. Simple, modern and easy pieces to wear both for an everyday use as well as for the evening. What do you guys think?
Clare Waight Keller has by far showed the fashion industry that she knows Chloé by know. Her Resort line for 2013 was absolutely amazing (here), as well as the Spring 2013 collection (here). For this Pre-Fall, she has designed a sixties mod inspiring line, and emphasized Carnaby Street shapes, such as boyish kick-flared trousers and A-line dresses and skirts. The turquoise and mint goes very well with the nude fabrics and it is so refreshing to see such light colours in a fall collection. Although I am not very surprised since these lines are released in the beginning/middle of the summer. Anyway, it is a great collection and my crush for Chloé will keep on growing.
So I am not celebrating New Years here at home in the cold, that’s why I wouldn’t mind looking like these two wish outfits the coming days. First out (the one above) all white outfit: Balmain shirt with golden buttons, python clutch from The Row, gorgeous flared trousers from Stella McCartney, the ‘Tate’ suit jacket in white from Acne, studded silver sandals from Valentino, thin necklace with wishbone from Cornelia Webb and glasses from Balmain. Underneath, a bit more french and rock’n'roll with leather pants from the lovely blogger Elin Kling’s collab with Guess Marciano, shirt (again) from Balmain, watch from Cartier, sunglasses from Ray Ban, shoulder bag in dark grey from Céline and a pair of goregous lace-up boots from Balmain Spring 2013 collection. Just some classic and great pieces!
I am very into the all white look (as you may know by know…). So I kind of did this copy-cat look from the Céline Spring 2013 collection. This is a look I would definitely go for New Years Eve. The suit jacket comes from Theyskens’ Theory, the pants are Gucci, the short belly top is the one I blogged about before from 3.1 Phillip Lim, the super duper nice shoulder bag comes from Givenchy and the pumps are Jimmy Choo. The accessories are Cornelia Webb (the thin silver necklace) and the beautiful loop earrings are Diane Kordas.
I am hooked on these two looks for the moment, from the Resort 2013 collection from my absolute favourite brand, The Row. The all black vs. the all white look are such simple, yet effect full, way of dressing. That black pony hair and leather jacket are to die for, as well as the backpack with silver details….For the moment, I am also hooked on turtle necks (I guess because of the cold outside) and I like the simple way of styling it with a coat – and nothing more around the neck (no scarf, etc.) If I haven’t said it before, I must say that I am very impressed with the Olsen sisters work. Even at a such young age, they don’t capture the youth nor accenture it. Instead the sisters emphasising on a much more modern and hip, yet classic, look that work in wide age range as well as for a much longer perspective. And I love how they make everything so luxurious.
For spring 2013 I want to be Chloé-girl. How stylish and chic aren’t these pictures from their Resort 2013 line? First of all, the wide cream coloured perforated trousers with a wide loose-fitted top in same perforation – stunning. Second of all, the dresses! Wow, love the ’70 influence, the bare shoulders and the one shoulder-dress. And at last, the platform wooden sandals are to-die-for. Would love, love, love to get my hands on those. Super cool and super chic.
I love the idea of wearing light colours when it’s getting darker outside – and especially when it’s the season of the year when everyone else is dressing in dark colours. This outfit above is truly symbolizing timeless chic – striped pullover and crocodile backpack from The Row, beige wool-coat from Vanessa Bruno, hat from Borsalino, mesh body from Saint Laurent, trousers from Alexander McQueen, ‘horse-bit’ loafers from Gucci and 18 karat yellow gold bracelet from Diane Kordas.
Love the simplicity in the pieces, the white-on-white styling (as usual), the white suit jacket without sleeves and the colours (nude, lavender and navy). Maison Martin Margiela delivers a nice but quite boring resort collection. Especially for being the uterlly creative fashion house as they are consider how the design team use to go outside every norm there would possible be.
