The Boots

Eliza Cummings for Vogue China June 2013 by Daniel JacksonI must say I am starting to dig these boots from the Saint Laurent Fall 2013 collection. I wasn’t a big fan of the pimped-out ones when seeing the collection for the very first time. Somehow I just couldn’t cope with the fact that such a classy, timeless and fabulous brand as Saint Laurent when a bit mainstream and ‘hard-core’ showing of stuff that I basically could find at, well, Topshop (nothing wrong with Topshop though). I do love the fact that I have seen a lot of cool, timeless and classic pieces from the Saint Laurent in stores and web-shops. Apparently Hedi Slimane has created a ‘Permanent Collection’ that will be available all year around and which include pieces like leather jackets, denim, t-shirts and duffle bags that are all a great foundation in a wardrobe. I do like the idea of dividing the brand in such collections and lines. For the this campaign the creative director has captured Danish Freja-Beha Erichsen in the new Saint Laurent store in Paris (and the collection was a celebration of this new opening). Anyway the boots in this editorial is a pair I wouldn’t mind at all for this fall. By the way, great looks in this editorial from the latest issue of Vogue China, June 2013. Eliza Cummings looks effortless smart captured by Daniel Jackson.

Topshop Unique

Topshop Unique 2013-2Topshop’s more high-end brand, Topshop Unique, has been well-appreciated among fashionistas for almost 24 seasons now. Since the popularity of the line Topshop Unique is expanding and for next year there will not only be a Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter collection but also a pre-fall and resort line. A selection of evening wear and accessories will be featured including georgette silk dresses and tailored jackets. As far as I am concerned, the first small resort collection that will be released in November, looks really nice. Simple, modern and easy pieces to wear both for an everyday use as well as for the evening. What do you guys think?

Black or white

Anja Rubik for Vogue Turkey April 2013 by Cuneyt Akeroglu - Celine, Balenciaga & LouboutinAnja Rubik is featured in the latest issue of Vogue Turkey. The magazine which is quite a rookie on the market (since 2010) deliver amazing and inspiring editorials every month. One of them is this this one with Anja Rubik showing of two simple looks. I love the fact of styling an all black look, black on black, as well as the white on white look. It is very effect full. Here above Anja is wearing pumps in black and white from Christian Louboutin, as well as Nicolas Ghesquiére for Balenciga, Sportmax and Céline. The silk satin tank in black/navy shade is Céline and just stunning. Wouldn’t mind it at all… The editorial is shot by Cuneyt Akeroglu.

Back to basic

Anja Rubik T-shirt and bra: bralettes

Anja Rubik sitting in a sheer tank top and underwear smoking a cigarette in issue 38 of Self Service Magazine. Classic right? I got inspired by her boyish look and put together some t-shirt that are available online and in store for the moment. From the left: white short knitted muscle tee from T by Alexander Wang, tank top in nude with ‘Music’ print from Acne S/S13, black v-neck from Acne (love this model), sheer tank from Acne, satin bralette and black leather bra from T by Alexander Wang and black mesh underwear from Weekday. The creme white satin bralette is just gorgeous and would look great to style with a white power suit.

Wish List

Spring Wish List - Saint Laurent leaopard scarf, Alexander Wang tanks, Céline slipeprs, Dries Van Noten Perfume, Chanel roughe, Prada sunglasses, Gianvito Rossi sandalsHere are some stuff on my mind that also qualifies on my wish list for the moment. I am all about tank tops right now, even if it’s a bit too chilly for it. But I stack it underneath my cashmere knits and hope that I can start showing them off soon. These two comes from T by Alexander wang, beauties. When the spring starts to come I want to change my knitted scarf to a thinner one, and I wouldn’t mind this leopard silk scarf from Saint Laurent Paris (just in at My Theresa). Shoes that I want; suede sandals in navy from Gianvito Rossi (love these) and the embellished fur slippers from Céline… Accessories; sunglasses from Prada and stack rings from Dries Van Noten (love the silver/gold combo). And I need to update my perfume collection (as well as my make-up) and wouldn’t mind trying the Dries Van Noten for Frederic Malle perfume and getting myself some Chanel make.

Basics

Saint Laurent t-shirt v-neck Saint Laurent t-shirtI dig basics and I am not loyal to any specific brand. Constantly I am looking for that perfect tee and white, grey or black hue. Even though I have plenty of striped t-shirts and long sleeves I can never get enough. For me the quality is the most important factor a long with style (of course). However, you will basically (!) never find the perfect one. Saint Laurent have some crazy expensive ones, soft as silk though, wouldn’t mind trying.

Belly tops

Okey, so you guys know that I am pretty hooked on show-your-belly-tops for the moment? Like I posted here and here. I just spotted this one above, from 3.1 Phillip Lim Spring 2013, which is a twisted gem tank top that comes in both black and white. Super duper nice and just perfect. I mean, the Balenciaga S/S13 bustier is perfect, but I think it’s hard to pull that of in an everyday look. But this one can be a real winner. You’ll find it here.

The perfect basics

So how many times haven’t you looked for a perfect basic tee? Or a tank that goes with just everything? I myself feels that I am constantly looking for those perfect basic – but never find them. Trust me, I’ve tried so many different brands but never found one to stick with. For an example, T by Alexander Wang – love the fit but lousy quality. Étoile Isabel Marant – great staples in linen jersey, but – bad quality there as well. Anyway, I saw these pieces from the L.A-based brand Kain and I really fell for the fit. Maybe I should ‘try’ some pieces from Kain – it could be the basics I am looking for. You can find Kain here!
