Stripes is merely an obsession of mine, and lately I have been eyeing thicker ones. Jacquemus is one who has included the bolder line in his SS15 collection, which is available for almost half the price now… Dangerous. Anyway, got me thinking of this editorial with Anja Rubik in Self Service Magazine where she is styled by Suzanne Koller and captured by Walter Pfeiffer. Perfect stripes and absolutely love the dress. I would probably look like a prison guard in this one, but Anja pulls it off perfectly.
Seeing stripes at the moment… Like a crazy person. And how many striped top don’t I already have in my closet? Too many. Did get myself I really cool Comme Des Garcon a while ago, not the classic cotton though. I got my hands on one from Junya Watanabe in spandex-ish fabric. Super nice.
The Resort lines for 2014 has been very strong and I have seen some amazing pieces and combinations. First of all, there were some fabulous looks from the Marc Jacobs Resort line of 2014 that I just want to copy straight away. I do not usually fall head over heels over his collection but in this Resort line there were some strong looks. There were pieces in silk, satin and fur styled with underwear and my favorite accessory for the moment – flats. Max Mara is also a brand that delivered. In their Resort line I had two looks which were my favorites which was the head-to-toe black and the head-to-toe white suit. Kind of dig the idea of pairing a cap to the more dressed-up-look, as well as styling the fur scarf, underneath the suit jacket.
Another brand with a strong Resort collection was Adam Lippes. Simple and effortless looks with that gorgeous feminine touches, such as satin robes and kitten-heeled slip-in’s. But there were also pieces that embrace masculinity with wide trousers and silk pants with sporty influences. I love these combinations and I am absolutely crushing over those heels for the moment… Wouldn’t mind them both in black and white (!).
Since I spotted this editorial featuring beautiful Kasia Smutniak in Vogue Italia March 2013, I kind of been having white shirts on my mind. I am always looking for the perfect white color, model, boy-friend-ish, and so on, and this editorial didn’t make my cravings go away… Love the simple look with the hair in a bun, the sleek watch and the hoop-earrings styled with the oversized shirt. It is such a useful piece and timeless piece in your wardrobe so I suggest you invest in shirt that is classic. Underneath I have gathered some cool, and classic, shirts that are available online right now. From top left: cotton-polpin shirt from Band of Outsiders, ‘Reese’ cotton-poplin shirt from Equipment, oversized striped silk and cotton-blend shirt from MiH Jeans and slender star-button shirt from Acne Studios.
Here are some stuff on my mind that also qualifies on my wish list for the moment. I am all about tank tops right now, even if it’s a bit too chilly for it. But I stack it underneath my cashmere knits and hope that I can start showing them off soon. These two comes from T by Alexander wang, beauties. When the spring starts to come I want to change my knitted scarf to a thinner one, and I wouldn’t mind this leopard silk scarf from Saint Laurent Paris (just in at My Theresa). Shoes that I want; suede sandals in navy from Gianvito Rossi (love these) and the embellished fur slippers from Céline… Accessories; sunglasses from Prada and stack rings from Dries Van Noten (love the silver/gold combo). And I need to update my perfume collection (as well as my make-up) and wouldn’t mind trying the Dries Van Noten for Frederic Malle perfume and getting myself some Chanel make.
I dig basics and I am not loyal to any specific brand. Constantly I am looking for that perfect tee and white, grey or black hue. Even though I have plenty of striped t-shirts and long sleeves I can never get enough. For me the quality is the most important factor a long with style (of course). However, you will basically (!) never find the perfect one. Saint Laurent have some crazy expensive ones, soft as silk though, wouldn’t mind trying.
Wouldn’t mind looking like this today at Christmas Eve: striped long-sleeved cotton top from Proenza Schouler, red burgundy pants from The Row, white coat from Baserange, see-through pumps ‘Bis-un-Boit’ from Christian Louboutin, a white small shoulder bag from The Row, a pair of goregous earrings in rosé-gold from Repossi and an id-bracelet from Maison Martin Margiela.
I can’t get enough of Géraldine Saglio and her styling for the moment, and I really like her work for the latest issue of Vogue Paris December/January 2012/2013 (their smacked Christmas issue). She has not only styled iconic supermodel Christy Turlington shot by Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, but also Malgosia Bela in a super cool editorial inside Ferber Studios photographed by Lachlan Bailey. So I have picked some of my favourite looks from the Christmas issue in this post. First out is Christy: love the tube top with a simple pair of black pants with a statement-belt, like this one from Balmain. Again, here is that belly peek….and perfectly styled with a pair of ankle-short black trousers. Super nice to add a pair of white shoes with that, even though I am a bit tired of those white pointy Céline pumps… In the ‘Le Ciel dans un Chambre’-editorial Malgosia looks super fly in a striped top paired with a red suede skirt as well as in the flared denim pants styled with a white thick knitwear. And hey, I want that Gucci horse-bit necklace in gold!
