More Resort

Marc Jacobs Resort 2014-2 Marc Jacobs Resort 2014-1 Marc Jacobs Resort 2014The Resort lines for 2014 has been very strong and I have seen some amazing pieces and combinations. First of all, there were some fabulous looks from the Marc Jacobs Resort line of 2014 that I just want to copy straight away. I do not usually fall head over heels over his collection but in this Resort line there were some strong looks. Among others these three above with pieces in silk, satin and fur styled with underwear and my favorite accessory for the moment – flats. Max Mara is also a brand that delivered. In their Resort line I had two looks which were my favorites which was the head-to-toe black and the head-to-toe white suit. Kind of dig the idea of pairing a cap to the more dressed-up-look, as well as styling the fur scarf, underneath the suit jacket.

Max Mara Resort 2014-2 Max Mara Resort 2014-1Another brand with a strong Resort collection was Adam Lippes. Simple and effortless looks with that gorgeous feminine touches, such as satin robes and kitten-heeled slip-in’s.  But there were also pieces that embrace masculinity with wide trousers and silk pants with sporty influences. I love these combinations and I am absolutely crushing over those heels for the moment… Wouldn’t mind them both in black and white (!).

StyleBy Magazine issue 17 by Blaise Reuterswärd and Columbine Smille

As you know, I am a big fan of StyleBy and for their 17th issue of the magazine the team went to New York and shot several editorials (which you’ll see when reading this issue). Anyway Columbine Smille has styled this jewelry editorial shot in a tiny hotel room in New York. The model, Luma, looks amazing as well as hair, make-up, clothing – and of course all the amazing jewelry including brands such as Cartier and Eddie Borgo. Very simple, luxurious and effortless cool, exactly the way I like it. The look I fell head over heels for was the one above – denim paired with denim, how cool? On my mind

Natalia Vodianova by Alasdair McLellan for WSJ Magazine June 2013-1

My current obsession is a pair of white pumps, especially know for the summer. I spotted super cool Carine Roitfeld in a pair during the fashion weeks, which she of course looked great in. Anyway I dig the way Natalia Vodianova is styled above, with a chunky knit and a silky negligé – and of course a pair of white pumps. Gorgeous Natalia is captured by Alasdair McLellan for WSJ Magazine June 2013. Underneath you can see two pair from the brand Gianvito Rossi, that has the most comfortable shoes! You can find them here and here.

Black favorites

Black favorites - By Malene Birger jumpsuit, Versace dress, Damir Donna dress, Filippa K skirt and Saint Laurent tankAs I have mentioned before I love dressing in black during the summer. Above I have gathered some cool pieces for a warm summer weather. From left: By Malene Birger jersey jumpsuit, tank top dress with belt from Damir Donna, sleeveless boatneck top in silk from Saint Laurent, crepe skirt from Filippa K and strap back detail dress from Versace.

Balenciaga Capsule

Balenciaga Capsule Collection fall 2013Spotted some great pieces in the Balenciaga Fall 2013 Capsule collection by Alexander Wang. I am utterly in love with the dress above (as well as the boots) and I just love the girly shapes and the androgyne styling. The way of styling a dress over a pair of trousers is just so effortless cool and something I must do for the fall. I have a hard time feeling comfortable in dresses (always feels to girly in some kind of way) and by styling the feminine garment with a pair of slinky trousers will definitely make me wear it more. I am also a big fan of the way Wang has worked with mixing materials together, like satin, velvet and crepe-twill, all in the same hue is such a beautiful way of creating cool pieces – and nobody knows it better than Wang. Double thumbs up for the new creative director!

Topshop Unique

Topshop Unique 2013-2Topshop’s more high-end brand, Topshop Unique, has been well-appreciated among fashionistas for almost 24 seasons now. Since the popularity of the line Topshop Unique is expanding and for next year there will not only be a Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter collection but also a pre-fall and resort line. A selection of evening wear and accessories will be featured including georgette silk dresses and tailored jackets. As far as I am concerned, the first small resort collection that will be released in November, looks really nice. Simple, modern and easy pieces to wear both for an everyday use as well as for the evening. What do you guys think?

Safari mode

Safari chic - Stella McCartney vest, Alexander Wang tops, Filippa K skirt, Givenchy bags, Acne sunglasses and Hermes scarf, K Jacques sandals & Repossi necklaceSpeaking of that gorgeous vest from Stella McCartney…. I put together a safari inspired look for a vacation somewhere exotic. From the top left: Stella McCartney Georgina Utility Vest in khaki green, white tank from T by Alexander Wang, gold necklace from Repossi, chunky black ribbed pullover from Alexander Wang, ‘Shiney Drape’ skirt from Filippa K, t-strap sandals from K. Jaqcues St. Tropez, tanned leather ‘Pandora’ bag from Givenchy, silk scarf from Hermès, round-framed ‘Pascal’ sunglasses from Acne Studios, dark green ‘Obsedia’ clutch and olive green canvas luggage, both from Givenchy.

A hat and a scarf

Acne AW13 hat black hat and scarf Speaking of scarfs, I remember that Acne Studios showed a cool styling of the silk scarf in their Fall and Winter 2013 collection. The models were wearing satin and silk scarfs – like a bandana – underneath a hat. Such a simple way of styling yourself and apply in your wardrobe. By the way, I love the colors of the hats! Blushed pink, black and navy blue – beautiful colors, especially the pink hue in the Fall (style it with burgundy…love that combination). Anyway, this styling something I definitely going to copy paste for next season!
