As you may know, I kind of never write about menswear fashion. But, since the menswear collections are showing Spring 2014 at Paris Fashion Week for the moment, I couldn’t resist scrolling them through. One collection I just fell head over heel for is the Hermès SS14. I just love the way Véronique Nichanian worked with effortless cool styles and pieces – like boatneck t-shirts, scarfs and sandals. And, all the leather and suede, yeez. How beautiful isn’t the suede navy trench coat paired with dotted gabardine pants and loafers? Pyjama party deluxe.
The people at Hermès has done a quite cool guide for inspiration on how to knot and ‘play’ with your Hermès scarf. The traditional squared silk scarf can be tied in so many ways and can actually be a true closet saver not only for a bad hair day but also as a chic accessory at the beach, as a belt or why not a skirt? I picked out some of my favorites of ‘how to knot it’ in this post – I love the cool and bohemian vibe you get when knot it as the ‘Turban Croisé’ (above) or the ‘Bandeau Rétro’ (underneath). You can get the full guide right here.
Iselin Steiro look flawless in this editorial for The Gentlewoman Spring 2013. The styling is impeccable, especially these pictures with the scarfs. The look above with the hite oversized cotton t-shirt along with the black silk tie scarf and the Repossi ring is styled to perfection. Karim Sadli has captures the Norwegian model and she is styled by Jonathan Kaye for The Gentlewoman SS13.
I love the idea of Hermès being such a fun and quirky brand online. If you visit their website you pretty much get a round of applause for just entering it. Anyway, this is no news (I think it have been running for a while) but I just discovered Hermès Tumblr. Go and visit it yourself right here. The pictures of the several satin scarfs called ‘What Knot?’ looks so effortless cool and here you can see two of my favorite photographs by Nathaniel Goldberg.
Here are some stuff on my mind that also qualifies on my wish list for the moment. I am all about tank tops right now, even if it’s a bit too chilly for it. But I stack it underneath my cashmere knits and hope that I can start showing them off soon. These two comes from T by Alexander wang, beauties. When the spring starts to come I want to change my knitted scarf to a thinner one, and I wouldn’t mind this leopard silk scarf from Saint Laurent Paris (just in at My Theresa). Shoes that I want; suede sandals in navy from Gianvito Rossi (love these) and the embellished fur slippers from Céline… Accessories; sunglasses from Prada and stack rings from Dries Van Noten (love the silver/gold combo). And I need to update my perfume collection (as well as my make-up) and wouldn’t mind trying the Dries Van Noten for Frederic Malle perfume and getting myself some Chanel make.
…it’s way too early to discuss scarfs, especially the ones in wool or angora. But, I was browsing at Acne Studios website and there were so many nice ones so I had to share. Pink, burgundy, red and grey – four colours I will definitely wear too much of this fall and winter. So beautiful together! You’ll find them here.
