Chic Athlétique

Vogue Paris June:July 2013 Hilary Rhoda by Terry Richardson-4Talented stylist Marie Chaix has styled this power editorial, ‘Chic Athlétique’, for the June/July 2013 issue of Vogue Paris. Model Hilary Rhoda is photographed by Terry Richardson and looks smashing in Céline Pre-fall pieces (I am obsessed with that buckle belt…), as well as all of the boots (!). The Céline pair with gold front and laces are killers, but I am very fond of the ones with low heel from Reed Krakoff, the black pair above – they would look gorgeous to knee-lenght skirts for the Fall. Chaix has captured loads of trends for the Fall 2013 in this editorial. Waist belt, knee-long skirts and knee-high boots, gloves and white – all trends that we probably will see a lot more of.

Topshop Unique

Topshop Unique 2013-2Topshop’s more high-end brand, Topshop Unique, has been well-appreciated among fashionistas for almost 24 seasons now. Since the popularity of the line Topshop Unique is expanding and for next year there will not only be a Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter collection but also a pre-fall and resort line. A selection of evening wear and accessories will be featured including georgette silk dresses and tailored jackets. As far as I am concerned, the first small resort collection that will be released in November, looks really nice. Simple, modern and easy pieces to wear both for an everyday use as well as for the evening. What do you guys think?

Stella McCartney Pre-Fall 2013

Stella McCartney Pre-Fall 2013Stella threw an amazing presentation for the launch of her pre-fall 2013 collection, and it was not her first time she did a happening like this. The show turned into a small party with a selected group of people invited where the models mingle with the crowd. Anyway, her pre-collection for this fall looked nice. I am not head over heels in love, but there were a couple of pieces that I liked. Stella is amazing when it comes to coats. The navy and black blocked coat was stunning, as well as the blue/turqouise one in a slighter more different proportion compared to what she use to do. Her strenght is within the suits and the navy two-pieced suit with gold buttons is a perfect example of that.

Céline Pre-fall 2013

Céline Pre-Fall 2013 golden shoesOh my, this collection is the best I ever laid my eyes on when it comes to Céline. Phoebe Philo has done an amazing collection with laidback suits, wedged creepers in gold and white, straw hats (that reminds me of my childhood, I wore them all the time…), pleated leather skirts in white, black and orange and goat hair details. The proportions of the pieces are always somehow very outstanding, but very Céline-ish. I love the details with the pearl buttons on the suit jackets, as well as the brass belts.

Gucci Pre-Fall 2013

Gucci Pre-Fall 2013 collection looks super smashing! I love the chic and retro vibe through-out the whole collection. Military/olive green skirts and coats (my favourite colour for the moment, as you know...) are paired with light blue shaded pieces as well as grey knits and leopard jackets – a total homerun. The big buckle waist-belt is seen on almost every style and the accentuated waist is not only shown at Gucci, but at the Proenza Schouler Pre-Fall 2013 collection as well. This collection from Gucci is truly feminine with the obvious ‘Mad Man’ vibes and as the finishing touch the models has full and rich plum coloured lipstick matched with side-parted, waved hair. The one thing I would like to have hanging in my closet is doubtless the military green coat and the blue off-the shoulder dress.

Pre-Fall 2013

Some of the Pre-Fall 2013 collections are now out! It’s very exciting to see what the trends might be for the fall, even though it’s way too early to even think about next fall… Although if you are a big shopper it can be ‘strategic’ to know what the trends might be, not only for the coming season but for the whole year. Then you get yourself some great pieces that will last in your wardrobe. First out was Chanel and the brand showed a Scottish influenced collection with kilts, tweeds and checked patterns but also with obvious vibes of romance and details from 18th Century. Even the slightly odd, but beautiful combination, Chanel has achieved to create  a collection that is very spot on of the trends that will become big for 2013 – the more sophisticated grunge trend. I believe we will see a lot of checked trousers and shirts, styled with loose-fitted pants in leather or jeans – a boy-ish and androgyne look, but yet very cool and sexy. My two favourite looks from the Chanel show are the these two. Love the checked slouchy trousers styled with an olive green over-sized tweed bomber, as well as the look underneath – checked patterns goes overload! Not only Chanel worked with plaid. Theyskens’ Theory showed in their pre-fall 2013 collection, a checked, plaided trench. I love the trend and I am very exciting to see more of it!
