Byredo

Byredo-products

I have quit using all other perfumes other than the ones I have got from Byredo. I wouldn’t call it an obsession, but I would definitely say there something more to it in these scents than any other fragrances out there. At the moment I am using ‘Flowerhead’ for the warmer period of the year (since its lighter and as the name reveal; its got a beautiful flower scent), and ‘Bal D’Afrique’ for the colder seasons. However my new favourites are ‘Blanche’ and ‘Bullion’ (also trying Mojave Ghost at the moment). Two amazing and very fresh scents. Blanche has got blonde wood, musk and sandal wood in it with a heart of peony and violets. Bullion on the other hand is a bit similar yet a lot different with its leather accord and magnolia. If you visit their very sleek website you’ll also very soon discover their extended product lines such as leather accessories – pieces which I am hugely crushing on since they launched at Barney’s. When Byredo opened up their first store in Soho last year I visited a but too often to have a look at their luggage and hand bags. Though those are definitely investment pieces, which is both unfortunate and fortunate. In the meantime I can please myself with a new fragrance at least.

Beauty favorites

Beauty favoritesI know I rarely mention something about beauty, or speak about any of my beauty routines. But there are so many good products and news for this spring, I just have to mention a few favorites that are available right now. From the top left: the Swedish perfume house Byredo, founded by the super cool dude Ben Gorhan, has released a new scent called ‘Inflorescence’. The new release is a tribute to fresh spring flowers and contains fresh roses and pink freesias with a touch of jasmine and magnolia. Maison Martin Margiela has launched three new fragrances called ‘Replica’ with associations to places like ‘Flower Market’, ‘Beach Walk’ and ‘Funfair Evening’ – “Three fragrances that re-transcribe the scents that speak to all of us, resonate with our imagination, awaken our memories.” Both the scent from Byredo and Margiela are fragrances I have to try. When it comes to lip care I never use lipgloss, instead I have my favorite from Rosebud or Burt’s Bees. Yves Saint Laurent’s ‘All in One’ BB cream is one of the best containing SPF25. If you are going for some luxurious stuff for showering routines, you have to get the shower gels from Byredo – they are amazing! When still in the shower, apply the ‘Bronze Goddess’ from Estée Lauder. It is a body oil spray which make your skin super smooth and it smells like a tropical heaven. And at least a nail polish that will work your nails is this one from YSL in the color ‘Bronze Aztec’.

Wish List

Spring Wish List - Saint Laurent leaopard scarf, Alexander Wang tanks, Céline slipeprs, Dries Van Noten Perfume, Chanel roughe, Prada sunglasses, Gianvito Rossi sandalsHere are some stuff on my mind that also qualifies on my wish list for the moment. I am all about tank tops right now, even if it’s a bit too chilly for it. But I stack it underneath my cashmere knits and hope that I can start showing them off soon. These two comes from T by Alexander wang, beauties. When the spring starts to come I want to change my knitted scarf to a thinner one, and I wouldn’t mind this leopard silk scarf from Saint Laurent Paris (just in at My Theresa). Shoes that I want; suede sandals in navy from Gianvito Rossi (love these) and the embellished fur slippers from Céline… Accessories; sunglasses from Prada and stack rings from Dries Van Noten (love the silver/gold combo). And I need to update my perfume collection (as well as my make-up) and wouldn’t mind trying the Dries Van Noten for Frederic Malle perfume and getting myself some Chanel make.

Hôtel Costes

Hotel-Costes-beautyIf there is one Hotel in the world (!) that I wouldn’t mind literally living in for my entire life (hah!) it’s Hôtel Costes. Not only is the atmosphere, the rooms and the restaurant things which makes me want to come back to the French very mysterious hotel, it’s also their taste in music. Costes have a collection of albums with the music they’re playing at the hotel as well, which are available at Spotify. Collections which I have listened to for years. Anyway as the Costes enthusiast that I am, I got happily surprised when I spotted that Net-a-Porter has just recently got their beauty products. Soap, perfume, candles and more is available online now. You can find Costes’ beauty stuff here.
