The bags

I am usually not a fan of Phillip Lim’s bags (specially not the Paschi bag…) but this season there are some great pieces. The clutches looks amazing. Oversized fold-over clutches with zippers – perfect for both a casual everyday look or for dressing up in the evening. Another favourite is the small satchel bag in brown – that you can carry in your hands. Taking the clutch (satchel) to another level.

Vogue Collection A/W12

Finally! I’m going to get my hands on this magazine asap (it’s out worldwide 10th May). The full coverage of the collections (2012-2013) shown at Fashion Weeks in New York, London, Paris and Milan edited by Vogue Paris.

Proenza Schouler FW12

White from top-to-toe, mint, net-details, the baggy leather pants, fur details (seen on the clutch), Asian/Chinese influence, the knee-high boots, the sporty look – a lot of trends in one collection. Too many if you ask me, even if the looks one by one looked great. Some of the pieces reminded me of a hybrid between Balenciaga S/S12 and Alexander Wang S/S12. I believe that the Proenza Schouler fall and winter collection is cool and yet very wearable, and I guess some pieces will be seen on many fashionistas very soon.

The Row FW12

I believe that the Olsen sisters’ best collection so far is the fall and winter collection for 2011. It’s difficult to top a collection that great. Even though this collection for fall and winter 2012 looked stunning it didn’t have the same ‘touch’ of coolness as the previous one. For fall and winter the Olsen twins showed of an more elegant collection with luxurious details. It’s funny how they’ve used flat sandals throughout the whole collection, especially since it’s a fall collection, but at the same time pretty cool. Wouldn’t be wearable over here, but in L.A for sure. The highlight of this collection is definitely the hairy black bag and the see-through blouse.

Wang FW12

Such a beautiful collection. Super classy and luxurious, something Wang has tried before but not really succeed with. But this time, he does. The boots are amazing (I kind of get the vibe that knee-high boots will be the thing to get your hands on for fall and winter), the bags (super classy) and all the details. Love the ‘net’-turtleneck with the leatherpieces and all the white (!) accessories – like the bag and the gloves.

Peter Som FW’12

The first day of New York Fashion Week just passed by. There was no particular designer that I like that showed on the first day, but browsing around among the shows I found one collection I liked more than the others. It was the fall and winter collection from Peter Som. In it’s whole, I didn’t found it interesting, but what’s really caught my eye was the fur. There were three pieces that were extraordinary outstanding – the camel coat with the fur details, the dark navy short fur-jacket and the multi-coloured coat (to die for). Three amazing pieces. For fall and winter I’m definitely going to buy a huge fur in a crazy colour. Can’t wait.

The fantastic mr Wang

Alexander Wang has been on many lips for years now. Even though his clothing and accessories, especially the bags, are seen almost everywhere nowadays, I still find his pieces totally amazing. I mean his ‘Miami’-inspired show for spring and summer 09′ was genius. Now, a couple of years later he’s taking over Asia. Alexander Wang is planning to expand with 14 (!) stores in Asia by the end of the year. And, he is launching a lifestyle collection with eight pieces this week. It will be available on monday in teh Wang store on Grand street, but every fashion editor, buyer and celeb sitting front row on his show at saturday is getting a goodie-bag with pieces like embedded leather lighter and a leather-bound notebook with metal corners. Wouldn’t want to miss that show…
