As you may know, I kind of never write about menswear fashion. But, since the menswear collections are showing Spring 2014 at Paris Fashion Week for the moment, I couldn’t resist scrolling them through. One collection I just fell head over heel for is the Hermès SS14. I just love the way Véronique Nichanian worked with effortless cool styles and pieces – like boatneck t-shirts, scarfs and sandals. And, all the leather and suede! How beautiful isn’t the suede navy trench coat paired with dotted gabardine pants and loafers?
I know there has been a lot of Resort collections on the blog lately, but there has been so many good ones! I am absolutely overwhelmed by the spot on styles and pieces, not only by the brands I am usually obsessing over. The latest one to show is Masion Martin Margiela, and I am usually not a big fan, but this collection really surprised me. I love the white look above with the peacock coat, the knee-lenght of the dress and the thigh-high boots. I am all about simplicity and the feeling of effortless cool, and I think MMM nailed it in this collection. I mean, I definitely want that black jumpsuit (crepe-de-chin top with trousers) right now!
Okey, I just love this look above from the Chloé Resort 2014 line, is absolutely amazing! As I mentioned before, yellow is the color for Spring 2014. The entire collection is beautiful, I have got tons of looks on my mind for the spring – like the pin striped denim trench coat paired with the denim boyfriend jeans, the ankle long striped skirt styled with a simple white shirt, and the wide trousers (!) both in white and navy paired with flats. Oh, my the flats are gorgeous, especially the slippers… The creative director for Chloé, Clare Waight Keller, stated that the trousers in this collection gives you room for her “barefoot attitude” – a statement I totally fell for. Waight Keller wanted the proportions to be just right, and sandals, as well as slippers, feels super hot to pair to both a chill and more dressed-up looks for just that perfect relaxed proportions.
I am super crushing over the bags from The Row Fall 2013 collection for the moment. They have got so many nice ones, and I love the models in the dark navy leather. I am seriously thinking of getting myself a bag in navy for the fall. It is such a beautiful color to black. I have to wait a bit when it comes to The Row leather goods…. But I know that Céline has got some beauties in navy as well for the fall. I have to check them out.
I just had to post my favorite looks from The Row Resort 2014 collection, which are quite a few. As you know by now, I am a huge fan of theirs (and their personal styles as well). As always The Row delivers. I love the hues and the colors, canvas-beigen, olive green, navy, light grey, and the up and coming color (that not only The Row showed, but also Stella McCartney and Louis Vuitton) — light yellow. For this Resort line, Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen said they were looking at uniforms — of sailors, of Japanese workers, of school children — for ideas this season. The thing about the Olsen twins is that they have this amazing eye for fabrics. They make pieces out of the best of the best materials and combine these in beautiful set-ups, like satin and denim, cashmere and canvas. As we can see they stay put to what they love and believe in. For an example they have always highlighted the flats, ever since The Row’s very beginning. And of course, it is implemented in this collection, as well as the semi-long and ankle-long skirts. Well, it is true love as always.
The Resort lines for 2014 has been very strong and I have seen some amazing pieces and combinations. First of all, there were some fabulous looks from the Marc Jacobs Resort line of 2014 that I just want to copy straight away. I do not usually fall head over heels over his collection but in this Resort line there were some strong looks. Among others these three above with pieces in silk, satin and fur styled with underwear and my favorite accessory for the moment – flats. Max Mara is also a brand that delivered. In their Resort line I had two looks which were my favorites which was the head-to-toe black and the head-to-toe white suit. Kind of dig the idea of pairing a cap to the more dressed-up-look, as well as styling the fur scarf, underneath the suit jacket.
Another brand with a strong Resort collection was Adam Lippes. Simple and effortless looks with that gorgeous feminine touches, such as satin robes and kitten-heeled slip-in’s. But there were also pieces that embrace masculinity with wide trousers and silk pants with sporty influences. I love these combinations and I am absolutely crushing over those heels for the moment… Wouldn’t mind them both in black and white (!).
Here are some stuff on my mind that also qualifies on my wish list for the moment! I am all about tank tops right now, even if it’s a bit too chilly for it. But I stack it underneath my cashmere knits and hope that I can start showing them off soon. These two comes from T by Alexander wang, beauties! When the spring starts to come I want to change my knitted scarf to a thinner one, and I wouldn’t mind this leopard silk scarf from Saint Laurent Paris (just in at My Theresa). Shoes that I want; suede sandals in navy from Gianvito Rossi (love these) and the embellished fur slippers from Céline… Accessories; sunglasses from Prada and stack rings from Dries Van Noten (love the silver/gold combo). And I need to update my perfume collection (as well as my make-up) and wouldn’t mind trying the Dries Van Noten for Frederic Malle perfume and getting myself some Chanel make.
I spotted these two pictures on Stockholm Streetstyle the other day. Aren’t the looks just perfect for this in-between period that is right now? A great mix of materials, prints and colors. Love the navy turtle-neck to those stunning silk pants from Dries Van Noten (and the Proenza Schouler Lunch bag), as well as the burgundy top to that navy goat fur and grey stonewashed jeans.
