Pink

STYLEBY Magazine Pre-fall 2013 Pink is hot for this Fall! Such a cool color to pair with all the dark shades. I just got my hands on the latest issue of STYLEBY Magazine the other day, and I spotted these two pictures of pink Fall coats. The one above is from the Bottega Veneta Pre-Fall collection, ad it is just absolutely gorgeous with the collar and the ‘trench-coat’ details on the arm sleeve. The editorial is styled by Columbine Smille for issue 18.

Barefoot attitude

Chloé Resort 2014 yellow trench coatOkey, I just love this look above from the Chloé Resort 2014 line, is absolutely amazing! As I mentioned before, yellow is the color for Spring 2014. The entire collection is beautiful, I have got tons of looks on my mind for the spring – like the pin striped denim trench coat paired with the denim boyfriend jeans, the ankle long striped skirt styled with a simple white shirt, and the wide trousers (!) both in white and navy paired with flats. Oh, my the flats are gorgeous, especially the slippers… The creative director for Chloé, Clare Waight Keller, stated that the trousers in this collection gives you room for her “barefoot attitude” – a statement I totally fell for. Waight Keller wanted the proportions to be just right, and sandals, as well as slippers, feels super hot to pair to both a chill and more dressed-up looks for just that perfect relaxed proportions.

More Resort

Marc Jacobs Resort 2014-2 Marc Jacobs Resort 2014-1 Marc Jacobs Resort 2014The Resort lines for 2014 has been very strong and I have seen some amazing pieces and combinations. First of all, there were some fabulous looks from the Marc Jacobs Resort line of 2014 that I just want to copy straight away. I do not usually fall head over heels over his collection but in this Resort line there were some strong looks. Among others these three above with pieces in silk, satin and fur styled with underwear and my favorite accessory for the moment – flats. Max Mara is also a brand that delivered. In their Resort line I had two looks which were my favorites which was the head-to-toe black and the head-to-toe white suit. Kind of dig the idea of pairing a cap to the more dressed-up-look, as well as styling the fur scarf, underneath the suit jacket.

Max Mara Resort 2014-2 Max Mara Resort 2014-1Another brand with a strong Resort collection was Adam Lippes. Simple and effortless looks with that gorgeous feminine touches, such as satin robes and kitten-heeled slip-in’s.  But there were also pieces that embrace masculinity with wide trousers and silk pants with sporty influences. I love these combinations and I am absolutely crushing over those heels for the moment… Wouldn’t mind them both in black and white (!).

On my mind

Wish List Balmain, Valentino, Acne, Little Liffner, Borsalino, Eddie Borgo and WeekdayI am all about soft colors and hues for the moment, and I prefer it to style it with washed black and adding a popping color – like the cobalt blue one here above. On my mind I have Balmain – above you see not only embellished ankle heels from their S/S13 collection but also the light powder pink shirt, the black dress and the beautiful retro sunglasses. The hat comes from the collaboration Acne Studios did with the italian brand Borsalino for this season (so cool, it’s available in yellow as well…), washed out denim jacket from Weekday (best budget line), cobalt blue loafers from Acne, tassle earrings from Eddie Borgo, see-through pvc bag from Valentino, studded leather clutch in black from Valentino as well and  a cool detail for your bag or luggage – cobalt blue tag from Little Liffner that you can find here.

Grunge at Saint Laurent

Saint Laurent Fall 2013 grey plaided shirtSince Hedi Slimane turned creative director for Saint Laurent there has been a few changes. First of all it was the name-change, which towards the public is the biggest change. But another great and utterly relevant aspect is the move of the creative studio. From the brand’s headquarters in Paris to sunny Cali, in fact to Los Angeles. So for this collection the main inspiration has been Californian Grunge. From the music to the invites were L.A-ified, with soundtrack from a San Francisco grunge band and art by the L.A painter Theodora Allen. Honestly I fell head over heels for Slimane’s first collection for YSL. The S/S13 collection was mind-blowing. But I was disappointed for this one. Where is the Yves Saint Laurent legacy? The vintage florals feels very unsophisticated as well as the sparkly over-pimped details on the boots. The dresses are fine, well cute, and fits for L.A. But for a fall collection? I’m skeptical. The highlights were the plaided shirts and the oversized cardigans, as well as the massive baby pink fur.

Matching

This fall is all about matching your outfits to the ultimate and by that I mean wearing your pieces together. Like the Stella McCartney golden pyjama above or the beautiful and delicate light pink Rochas alpaca top and skirt. The three outfits above are my favourites for the moment. The klein cobalt blue top and skirt is Stella McCartney as well.

Blazer

Totally in love with this wool-blended tuxedo blazer from Haider Ackermann. Couldn’t be a better colour! I would style that deep rich purple-red plum blazer with either a pair of light pink wool capri trousers or a tight knee-long skirt, of course in pink as well. I’ve spotted a gorgeous one from Rochas that would be a match made in heaven with the tuxedo…dream on.
