I have quit using all other perfumes other than the ones I have got from Byredo. I wouldn’t call it an obsession, but I would definitely say there something more to it in these scents than any other fragrances out there. At the moment I am using ‘Flowerhead’ for the warmer period of the year (since its lighter and as the name reveal; its got a beautiful flower scent), and ‘Bal D’Afrique’ for the colder seasons. However my new favourites are ‘Blanche’ and ‘Bullion’ (also trying Mojave Ghost at the moment). Two amazing and very fresh scents. Blanche has got blonde wood, musk and sandal wood in it with a heart of peony and violets. Bullion on the other hand is a bit similar yet a lot different with its leather accord and magnolia. If you visit their very sleek website you’ll also very soon discover their extended product lines such as leather accessories – pieces which I am hugely crushing on since they launched at Barney’s. When Byredo opened up their first store in Soho last year I visited a but too often to have a look at their luggage and hand bags. Though those are definitely investment pieces, which is both unfortunate and fortunate. In the meantime I can please myself with a new fragrance at least.
For this spring I have got this huge cravings of getting myself a classic bag. A leather piece that becomes your best investment in your wardrobe for an everyday use. I have been crushing on the model ‘Peek-a-Boo’ from Fendi, I think it is a really cool bag, quite unique, and just the perfect size as well (for me at least). When it comes to bags this year, I have seen a lot of fashionistas hitting a more subtle and classic style. All kinds of models from Valentino, Prada and of course, Hermès. Another famous fashion house that are up and coming among the hottest profiles in business is Dior. These leather pieces has, at least for me, been seen on a more immature crowd. But I kind of been digging them lately. Above from the top left: Fendi ‘Peek-a-boo’ in black, Valentino, Prada and Fendi. Underneath: Dior in orange and navy, Hermès Kelly bag and a classy Prada in black leather.
I picked out some of my favourites bags from the Céline Spring and Summer leather goods collection of 2013. Even though I am a tiny bit tired of some models, I totally dig the new clutches and the beautiful colours. As I mentioned before, light yellow is an huge trend for spring as well as the baby blue colours and hues. The one that really rocks this collection is the black fold-over shoulder bag with gold details.
I really dig this ad campaign from Céline for their resort collection. All of the pictures are amazing, such a sweet vibe with the fruit and the vaccation feeling. Watermelons, honey melons and pineapples are cut in among the leather goods, accessories and shoes from the resort line. They have this folded cabas in linen and lambskin in this collection that are just amazing! I really like the idea of mixing linen and leather when it comes to bags for the spring and summer collection. Totally something investing in for this spring.
