Absolutely love these first pictures of the Étoile Isabel Marant collection for fall 2013-14. I like the fact that Isabel Marant has gone back to her “roots” – creating pieces that are timeless and wardrobe staples, but of course with a great cut. I had a hard time to relate to the current collection (the Étoile S/S13 collection) with all the flower tunics and pants, owl-printed pullovers, pale colors (like yellow and baby blue) and star-printed jeans… That is why I totally embrace what I have seen this far! God, I love the peacoat, the thigh-high suede boots, the knit and the slight flared jeans with a simple, crisp white shirt. The ad campaign is featuring gorgeous Andreea Diaconu and is photographed by Karim Sadli.
My current obsession is a pair of white pumps, especially know for the summer. I spotted super cool Carine Roitfeld in a pair during the fashion weeks, which she of course looked great in. Anyway I dig the way Natalia Vodianova is styled above, with a chunky knit and a silky negligé – and of course a pair of white pumps. Gorgeous Natalia is captured by Alasdair McLellan for WSJ Magazine June 2013. Underneath you can see two pair from the brand Gianvito Rossi, that has the most comfortable shoes! You can find them here and here.
Speaking of that gorgeous vest from Stella McCartney…. I put together a safari inspired look for a vacation somewhere exotic. From the top left: Stella McCartney Georgina Utility Vest in khaki green, white tank from T by Alexander Wang, gold necklace from Repossi, chunky black ribbed pullover from Alexander Wang, ‘Shiney Drape’ skirt from Filippa K, t-strap sandals from K. Jaqcues St. Tropez, tanned leather ‘Pandora’ bag from Givenchy, silk scarf from Hermès, round-framed ‘Pascal’ sunglasses from Acne Studios, dark green ‘Obsedia’ clutch and olive green canvas luggage, both from Givenchy.
Spring has (almost) arrived! The sun is out and I just want to stroll around in light sheer pieces. Here is a look I wouldn’t mind wearing for tonight: ‘Merci’ leather jacket and off-white long-sleeve knitwear ‘Lia Tulle pullover’ both pieces from Acne Studios, python-print satin and lace pencil skirt from Erdem, off-white clutch with gold details from Saint Laurent Paris, ‘Ambre Gris’ Eau de Perfum from Balmain, crystal embellished pumps from Gianvito Rossi, aviator shades from Ray Ban, gold necklace with charms from Nicolas Ghesquière for Balenciaga and gold ‘Twosome’ necklace from Efva Attling.
…is crocodile embossed bags for the moment. Especially bags from Givenchy. This clutch is one of the favourites, among the Pandora and Antigona bag. As in this picture, the croco-embossed clutch risen the whole outfit. The fuzzy knit and the black leather skirt creates a perfect combination with the bag – street style as it’s best. The idea of using different materials – but all in the same colour – makes this outfit perfect.
Today’s wish outfit: kick-flared leather pants from The Row (amazing pants…), white wedge leather shoes from Stella McCartney Resort 2013 (now in stores), cosy knitwear from La Garconne, fantastic ‘Box’ bag from Céline in metallic silver, small leather wallet in white with silver metallic studs from Proenza Schouler, a classic pair of Wayfarer from Rayban and to top of the outfit I would do it with a classic arm piece in silver from Maison Martin Marigela. Of course would the Smythson ‘New York, London, Milan & Paris’ calender be stuffed into the bag as well.
Here above you’ll see some stuff that is on my mind right now (love the idea of dressing in white in the winter – super sophisticated!). ‘Hunston’ chunky knit turtleneck from The Row, white flared-denim jeans from Emilio Pucci, a python shoulder bag from Chanel, silver metallic classic pumps from Jimmy Choo, 18-karat gold and diamond ring from Diane Kordas and the lovely Balmain ‘Amber Gris’ from Balmain.
I can’t get enough of Géraldine Saglio and her styling for the moment, and I really like her work for the latest issue of Vogue Paris December/January 2012/2013 (their smacked Christmas issue). She has not only styled iconic supermodel Christy Turlington shot by Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, but also Malgosia Bela in a super cool editorial inside Ferber Studios photographed by Lachlan Bailey. So I have picked some of my favourite looks from the Christmas issue in this post. First out is Christy: love the tube top with a simple pair of black pants with a statement-belt, like this one from Balmain. Again, here is that belly peek….and perfectly styled with a pair of ankle-short black trousers. Super nice to add a pair of white shoes with that, even though I am a bit tired of those white pointy Céline pumps… In the ‘Le Ciel dans un Chambre’-editorial Malgosia looks super fly in a striped top paired with a red suede skirt as well as in the flared denim pants styled with a white thick knitwear. And hey, I want that Gucci horse-bit necklace in gold!
A while back I got myself a pair of N.B – yes, a pair of New Balance sneakers. They are so comfy it’s ridiculous. Anyway, I just spotted this editorial in the latest issue of Vogue UK November 2012. Joan Smalls is styled in a pair of N.B sneakers – and in that perfect everyday look – a great chunky knit paired with baggy leather trousers or a maskuline coat. Super nice! The editorial is photographed by Karim Sadli.
The idea of paring a pair of classic sneakers to chunky knits and your everyday outfit is perfection. When I was younger I love the ‘Stan Smith’s’ by Adidas and I still find them supercool everytime I spot them in editorials and street style. In the latest issue of Marie Claire France, Martha Hunt is styled in very cool and relaxed knitwear and paired with, just a pair of sneakers. Love the inspiration and it makes me want to dig out my old Smiths in my closet. The editorial ‘Maille’ is photgraphed by Satoshi.
