The Olsen twins are making a collaboration collection with the norwegian brand Bik Bok and the first pictures has now been released. Mary-Kate and Ashley are guest designing three collections that hits stores in August. I do hope for some good wearable pieces, I mean The Row, as well as Elizabeth & James, are just amazing so I have got all my fingers crossed. Hopefully the collections will be focusing on better quality use of fabric than the rest of the Bik Bok collections. I believe Bik Bok does a lot of great trend pieces but the quality is not that good, unfortunately… Ashley and Mary-Kate stated that they wanted to do a rock’n'roll collection but with a Scandinavian touch. By looking at the first released pictures it looks that we will see some great pieces – very Hedi Slimane for Saint Laurent though…The twins will actually visit Scandinavia as well, I think they are coming to Stockholm for the release of the collections. Very exciting!
Speaking of scarfs, I remember that Acne Studios showed a cool styling of the silk scarf in their Fall and Winter 2013 collection. The models were wearing satin and silk scarfs – like a bandana – underneath a hat. Such a simple way of styling yourself and apply in your wardrobe. By the way, I love the colors of the hats! Blushed pink, black and navy blue – beautiful colors, especially the pink hue in the Fall (style it with burgundy…love that combination). Anyway, this styling something I definitely going to copy paste for next season!
Above I have picked out two outfits that I would go with at Coachella. Love the fact that you alternate your style with just a few pieces. For a day look I would go for a pair of white denim shorts from Frame Denim, a grey sleeve-less tank top from Rick Owens Lilies and pair it with a pair of t-strap sandals from K. Jacques St. Tropez styled with a straw hat from Maison Michel, a pair of way-farer from Ray-Ban, Anine Bing Diamond Solitaire rings in gold and white-gold (love these!) and a shoulder bag from Balenciaga (Fall and Winter collection 2013-2014). For a night look – stay tuned with you accessories and switch your sandals to some boots, these black suede boots comes from Rodarte x Opening Ceremony, washed out black denim shorts from J.Brand and a beautiful silk sequin top from Peter Pilotto.
The huge music festival in Cali has begun, and I would just love to be there. Unfortunately, Coachella has to wait for another year for me. As every year the style inspiration and outfit inspo is massive if you dig the boho chic hippie-festival style. I haven’t got any pictures from this year, so for now I just giving you some inspiration from last year. I always find the off-dutie models dressing impeccable cool, like Hanne Gaby-Odiele, Kasia Struss, Jacquelyn Jablonski, Raquel Zimmerman, well the list can go on. And of course, Kate Bosworth (a long with Kate Moss) is kind of like the queen of festival styles.
I am all about soft colors and hues for the moment, and I prefer it to style it with washed black and adding a popping color – like the cobalt blue one here above. On my mind I have Balmain – above you see not only embellished ankle heels from their S/S13 collection but also the light powder pink shirt, the black dress and the beautiful retro sunglasses. The hat comes from the collaboration Acne Studios did with the italian brand Borsalino for this season (so cool, it’s available in yellow as well…), washed out denim jacket from Weekday (best budget line), cobalt blue loafers from Acne, tassle earrings from Eddie Borgo, see-through pvc bag from Valentino, studded leather clutch in black from Valentino as well and a cool detail for your bag or luggage – cobalt blue tag from Little Liffner that you can find here.
Just spotted this editorial in Numéro Tokyo April 2013 issue. I am having a soft spot when it comes to denim editorials, I just love it. Simple, cool, classic, and most important of all – so inspiring. Carolyn Murphy is styled in denim on denim paired with cool statement accessories, like the Saint Laurent S/S13 felt hat and leather harnesses. The editorial is photographed by Nino Munoz.
In the April issue of Vogue Netherlands, Milou van Groesen is not only featured on the cover, but also in a story inside. The editorial ‘Plastic Touch’ is, according to the magazine, a celebration to the Spring. I am in love with the picture above, the white jeans, the mens watch that are a bit too loose and the black top, with a very deep cleavage. The messy hair and the colors in this editorial (shot in the evening) makes my cravings for a bit warmer temperatures even bigger.
