Vogue Collection A/W12

Finally! I’m going to get my hands on this magazine asap (it’s out worldwide 10th May). The full coverage of the collections (2012-2013) shown at Fashion Weeks in New York, London, Paris and Milan edited by Vogue Paris.

YSL FW12

Stefano Pilati’s last collection for YSL was dark, glamourous, elegant and graceful. Just the way I picture YSL. The models had slick-back hair paired with blood-red lips and went down the catwalk in simple and classic looks updated with leather and fur details, metallic dresses and beautiful high-heels. The backless dresses were absolutely stunning and the chain details was teamed up in perfection with the strictness and elegance. So sad that Stefano Pilati is saying goodbye to YSL, he is such a genious. Hopefully someone grand takes over, the rumour has it that Hedi Slimane is taking over as a creative director for the brand.

Céline FW12

According to Style.com, Phoebe Philo’s up-coming birth to her third child influenced the presentation of this collection. So the fall and winter show was presented in a garage look-a-like studio. Even though her presentation was inspired by her imminent birth, none of the pieces were influnced by it. Enough said, the collection (as always) was breathtaking. My absolute favourites were the pink coat, the color blocked trench and the beautiful multi-coloured fur. Not to forget, the white shoes, or the golden ones (!).

Bye Raf!

The Jil Sander fall and winter 2012 collection is such a beautiful collection. I mean, all the shades of light pink and the classic coats mixed with the pointy edgy pumps were just perfection together. And it was the last collection that Raf Simons designed, his last collection of his seven years of work at Jil Sander. Bye Raf, and hello Jil Sander again (her third time as a designer for the brand)!

Proenza Schouler FW12

White from top-to-toe, mint, net-details, the baggy leather pants, fur details (seen on the clutch), Asian/Chinese influence, the knee-high boots, the sporty look – a lot of trends in one collection. Too many if you ask me, even if the looks one by one looked great. Some of the pieces reminded me of a hybrid between Balenciaga S/S12 and Alexander Wang S/S12. I believe that the Proenza Schouler fall and winter collection is cool and yet very wearable, and I guess some pieces will be seen on many fashionistas very soon.

Wang FW12

Such a beautiful collection. Super classy and luxurious, something Wang has tried before but not really succeed with. But this time, he does. The boots are amazing (I kind of get the vibe that knee-high boots will be the thing to get your hands on for fall and winter), the bags (super classy) and all the details. Love the ‘net’-turtleneck with the leatherpieces and all the white (!) accessories – like the bag and the gloves.
