The Resort lines for 2014 has been very strong and I have seen some amazing pieces and combinations. First of all, there were some fabulous looks from the Marc Jacobs Resort line of 2014 that I just want to copy straight away. I do not usually fall head over heels over his collection but in this Resort line there were some strong looks. There were pieces in silk, satin and fur styled with underwear and my favorite accessory for the moment – flats. Max Mara is also a brand that delivered. In their Resort line I had two looks which were my favorites which was the head-to-toe black and the head-to-toe white suit. Kind of dig the idea of pairing a cap to the more dressed-up-look, as well as styling the fur scarf, underneath the suit jacket.
Another brand with a strong Resort collection was Adam Lippes. Simple and effortless looks with that gorgeous feminine touches, such as satin robes and kitten-heeled slip-in’s. But there were also pieces that embrace masculinity with wide trousers and silk pants with sporty influences. I love these combinations and I am absolutely crushing over those heels for the moment… Wouldn’t mind them both in black and white (!).
The new issue of Numéro Magazine hits the stands this week and the cover features Aymeline Valade by Richard Bush. I find it so beautiful. Numéro always transmit a certain feeling that I can’t put my finger on. A good feeling of course, since it makes me want to run down to the store and get the magazine. I couldn’t find any editorial pictures from it yet, so I have gathered some favorites from recent editorials underneath. First out: Wild by Gregory Harris starring Missy Ryder, Wide Angle by Anthony Maule starring Janice Alida (I love that Miu Miu coat from the S/S13 collection…) and Céleste Ulysse Fréchelin.
Since it’s still freezing here, I would love to look like this today. Amazing fur coat, black wide trousers and cotton long-sleeved t-shirt from The Row, a pair of sweet white sneakers and luggage bag from Saint Laurent and sunglasses from Céline. Very casual but a super cool look.
Oh my, this collection is the best I ever laid my eyes on when it comes to Céline. Phoebe Philo has done an amazing collection with laidback suits, wedged creepers in gold and white, straw hats (that reminds me of my childhood, I wore them all the time…), pleated leather skirts in white, black and orange and goat hair details. The proportions of the pieces are always somehow very outstanding, but very Céline-ish. I love the details with the pearl buttons on the suit jackets, as well as the brass belts.
For Vogue Japan December 2012, Steven Pa has photographed Kasia Strauss for the editorial ‘A Big Time Story’. The feature, which is styled by Vanessa Traina, is full of statement pieces from the Fall and Winter 2012 collections, like the short tweed jacket from Stella McCartney, the famous pair of lace-up heels in white and navy from Balenciaga, the block-coloured Céline pullover and the red satin Haider Ackermann long-sleeved top. I like the editorial a lot, but I feel quite fed up at these pieces for the moment. Especially since we have seen them in almost every magazine during the fall. Looking forward to Resort and Spring 2013, and not one moment too late!
In the latest issue of ELLE France Ben Morris has photographed beautiful Liya Kebede, both for this editorial and for the cover. Kind of dig the simple everyday styling by Anne-Marie Brouillet, with the famous satin bird baseball jacket from Proenza Schouler, and the massive fur vest to the that jumpsuit in white from Agnes B. Simple chic french styling as it’s best.
I really dig this super cool editorial in the January 2013 issue of Harper’s Bazaar Spain. Carmen Kass is photgraphed by Nico in sportwear and traineers paired with beautiful fur coats. I love the combination of the unexpected match. I also like the idea that they have styled Carmen in luxury watches and jewellery, with the sporty pieces. Excersice in style right?
I wouldn’t mind one of these amazing fur coats in this cold. These coats are absolutely amazing! Peter Som is the designer behind the fur and these pieces are from his fall 2012 collection. My favourite is the grey/blue-ish one underneath. Lovely!
Okey, so there is one super cool resort collection for 2013 I haven’t mentioned yet and that is Prada. I spotted this picture above of Magdalena Frackowiak, in the latest issue of Vanity Fair, and just saw it’s genious. I mean how cool isn’t that fur? And that bag?! Love the 70’s vibe and the sporty influences with the head band. This collection is awesome. Just as The Row Resort 2013, Prada choose to do a more ‘chilly’ collection, and by that I mean a much more dressed line with pieces that you actually can wear immediately. The resort lines always hits the stores by now, in December, and very often the collection contains pieces that are wearable for a sping and summer temperature. But Prada on the other hand, has choosen to create a much more dressed collection with the fur pieces and the woolen pants and knit. Double thumbs up!
