Okey, so this spring is all about one particular shoe model – and that is the flat espadrille. I mean sure, they were an huge hype already last year when Chanel and Valentino released their logo and lace models, but they are still going strong for this year as well. And this season have not only Stella McCartney a few pairs in her collection (pink or yellow neon ones!), but also Fendi and Chloé. My favourites are still the Celine pair (since I got them myself).
First of all, Anja always looks stunning. She is definitely one of the models that can rock any looks and pull it off amazingly. I love her look for the moment, with the short blonde hair and that messy fringe. In this editorial ‘The Pieces You Need Now’, photographed by Jan Welters, she is styled in several stunning pieces from the spring and summer 2013 collections from Givenchy, Dolce & Gabbana, Bottega Veneta and more. The editorial is featured in ELLE UK February 2013. My favourite pieces would be the thigh-high lavender sandals from Salvatore Ferragamo, the oversized Saint Laurent hat, the Dolce & Gabbana off-the shoulder dress as well as the blue denim jacket with pearl buttons from Chanel.
In the latest issue of ELLE France Ben Morris has photographed beautiful Liya Kebede, both for this editorial and for the cover. Kind of dig the simple everyday styling by Anne-Marie Brouillet, with the famous satin bird baseball jacket from Proenza Schouler, and the massive fur vest to the that jumpsuit in white from Agnes B. Simple chic french styling as it’s best.
Some of the Pre-Fall 2013 collections are now out! It’s very exciting to see what the trends might be for the fall, even though it’s way too early to even think about next fall… Although if you are a big shopper it can be ‘strategic’ to know what the trends might be, not only for the coming season but for the whole year. Then you get yourself some great pieces that will last in your wardrobe. First out was Chanel and the brand showed a Scottish influenced collection with kilts, tweeds and checked patterns but also with obvious vibes of romance and details from 18th Century. Even the slightly odd, but beautiful combination, Chanel has achieved to create a collection that is very spot on of the trends that will become big for 2013 – the more sophisticated grunge trend. I believe we will see a lot of checked trousers and shirts, styled with loose-fitted pants in leather or jeans – a boy-ish and androgyne look, but yet very cool and sexy. My two favourite looks from the Chanel show are the these two. Love the checked slouchy trousers styled with an olive green over-sized tweed bomber, as well as the look underneath – checked patterns goes overload! Not only Chanel worked with plaid. Theyskens’ Theory showed in their pre-fall 2013 collection, a checked, plaided trench. I love the trend and I am very exciting to see more of it!
So the December 2012 issues are hitting the stores as we speak and first out it is Vogue Espana. For this issue, Mario Testino has photographed Kate Moss, not only for this beautiful editorial, but also for the cover. A very elegant editorial with Spanish influences and Saint Laurent Paris-vibes S/S13 with the hats.
If you are looking for a vintage Chanel piece, you’ll find it here. Quite lovely this one, the ‘Pouchette Quilted Bag’ in black with golden details.
Some backstage pictures from the Chanel spring 2013 show in Paris for a couple of weeks ago. I like how Olivia da Costa captures the essence of the brand in a few shots – the goregous and lady-like dresses and suitjackets, the pearl necklaces and the tiny Chanel-logo at the hair-knot and the (alsmost black and white) shoes.
Since it’s soon to be fall I want to give you the ultimate bag report. I’ve noticed there are some major trends this fall when it comes to handbags. The shoulder bag is one of them and above I’ve picked out my favourites. From the left: Givenchy Obsedia bag, suede patchwork bag from Roger Vivier and a dark chocolate crocco bag from Stella McCartney. From the left row two you’ll fins Givenchy Shark tooth buckle bag in nude, Céline bicolor shoulder bag and the Boy bag by Chanel in blue velvet.Another huge trend, that I myself would love to embrace, is the crocco trend. Regardless of the colour a nice crocco bag can elevate your outfit at an instant. From the left: lovely tote bag in navy blue from The Row, clutches from Nancy Gonzalez and chestnut brown crocco bag from Givenchy.
Is all about red this fall – red suits, red skirts, red blazers, red coats, red shoes and of course red bags. These above are my three favourites, from the left: Valentino shoulder bag, Tom Ford crocco evening bag and studded clutch from Valentino. And of course, the leopard print is always a classic. Love it on accessories and especially when it comes to bags. Jérome Dreyfuss has made the beautiful tote above on the left, in the middle: Christian Louboutin pony hair evening clutch (to-die-for), Valentino leopard printed shoulder bag and to the right the Va-Va-Voom large shoulder bag from Valentino.
