I wouldn’t say no to the new re-designed Tortue piece from Cartier, neither in rosé gold nor in warm grey silver. The watch has been a piece in their selection since 1912 (!) and now its updated with a diamond embellished face and more slim bracelet.
As you know, I am a big fan of StyleBy and for their 17th issue of the magazine the team went to New York and shot several editorials (which you’ll see when reading this issue). Anyway Columbine Smille has styled this jewelry editorial shot in a tiny hotel room in New York. The model, Luma, looks amazing as well as hair, make-up, clothing – and of course all the amazing jewelry including brands such as Cartier and Eddie Borgo. Very simple, luxurious and effortless cool, exactly the way I like it. The look I fell head over heels for was the one above – denim paired with denim, how cool? The editorial is photographed by Blaise Reuterswärd.
I am in love with these pictures of Joan Smalls for Monday Weekly China. Joan is styled by Maher Jridi in Balmain S/S13 pieces paired with Alexander Wang gladiator heels, Repossi and Cartier jewelry, Saint Laurent, Lanvin and Haider Ackermann. The editorial is photographed by John Paul Petrus. Speaking of Haider Ackermann, the brand has an amazing collection for this Spring. Check out some pieces at Net-à-Porter and Browns Fashion.
Emily Di Danato looks absolutely stunning in this watch-editorial in Vogue Paris April 2013 by Giampaolo Sgura. But, it was not her, but the watches I wanted to mention. Vogue Paris is amazing in finding beautiful, classic and timeless pieces for their editorials, and in this one you can see it is no exception. I love the Hublot watch as well as the Chanel link-watch in silver (the last picture). I love my current watch, and use it every day. Although I wouldn’t mind updating it with an alligator leather strap… But if I would go for a new one a would definitely want the Chanel one, or a Jaeger-LeCoultre (the Reverso is a favorite!).
I would say that this look above is the fashion saviour look. A great warming and stylish coat with a cashmere jumper, a perfect pair of leather trousers and suede pumps will do the trick for a fashionista in New York bouncing between the fashion shows. The white wool and mohair coat comes from Céline, cashmere jumper and black suit jacket from Balmain, leather trousers/leggings from The Row, studded clutch from Valentino, suede pumps from Balmain, sunglasses from Ray Ban, chain bracelet from Hermès and watch from Cartier.
So I am not celebrating New Years here at home in the cold, that’s why I wouldn’t mind looking like these two wish outfits the coming days. First out (the one above) all white outfit: Balmain shirt with golden buttons, python clutch from The Row, gorgeous flared trousers from Stella McCartney, the ‘Tate’ suit jacket in white from Acne, studded silver sandals from Valentino, thin necklace with wishbone from Cornelia Webb and glasses from Balmain. Underneath, a bit more french and rock’n’roll with leather pants from the lovely blogger Elin Kling’s collab with Guess Marciano, shirt (again) from Balmain, watch from Cartier, sunglasses from Ray Ban, shoulder bag in dark grey from Céline and a pair of goregous lace-up boots from Balmain Spring 2013 collection. Just some classic and great pieces!
Wouldn’t mind looking like this today: top from 3.1 Phillip Lim, super cool ‘Octopussy’ velvet slippers from Stubbs & Wootton, dark navy fedora hat from Mason Michel, flared trousers from Stella McCartney, alligator back pack from the collaboration The Row x Damien Hirst, golden Tank Francoise from Cartier, set of golden rings from Maria Black and a pair of classic Wayfarer from Ray Ban.
Just spotted this promotion (in collaboration with the magazine) in the latest issue of Vogue Japan December 2012, and I love the whole denim-on-denim with golden accessories (especially that Cartier watch). A super easy way of getting chic in an instant – just add layers of gold accessories in every kind and you have a great everyday look. Matching denim with denim is always a winner as well, with or without the golden jewellery. The promo ‘My Way of Sophistication’ is featuring Ehren Dorsey photographed by Taka Mayumi.
Would love for it to be a golden Christmas this year! Okey, I know wishful thinking but here are some pieces I can wish for at least: Valentino pyramid golden necklace/choker from the Pre-Fall 2012/13 collection. The necklace is inspired by stars such as Bianca Jagger in the 80’s during the Studio 54 time and encrusted in white diamonds. The Aurélie Bidermann Cusco gold necklace from her latest collection. A Cartier Love bracelet designed by Aldo Cipullo in the late 60’s for the famous French jeweler, as well as the Cartier Tank Francais in 18 karat gold (I love mine in silver, but wouldn’t mind one in gold as well….). And last but not least, Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watch in 18 karat rosé-gold.
I can’t get enough of Géraldine Saglio and her styling for the moment, and I really like her work for the latest issue of Vogue Paris December/January 2012/2013 (their smacked Christmas issue). She has not only styled iconic supermodel Christy Turlington shot by Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, but also Malgosia Bela in a super cool editorial inside Ferber Studios photographed by Lachlan Bailey. So I have picked some of my favourite looks from the Christmas issue in this post. First out is Christy: love the tube top with a simple pair of black pants with a statement-belt, like this one from Balmain. Again, here is that belly peek….and perfectly styled with a pair of ankle-short black trousers. Super nice to add a pair of white shoes with that, even though I am a bit tired of those white pointy Céline pumps… In the ‘Le Ciel dans un Chambre’-editorial Malgosia looks super fly in a striped top paired with a red suede skirt as well as in the flared denim pants styled with a white thick knitwear. And hey, I want that Gucci horse-bit necklace in gold!
