Truly dig these first pictures of the Étoile Isabel Marant collection for fall 2013-14. I like the fact that Isabel Marant has gone back to her “roots” – creating pieces that are timeless and wardrobe staples, but of course with a great cut. I had a hard time to relate to the current collection (the Étoile S/S13 collection) with all the flower tunics and pants, owl-printed pullovers, pale colors (like yellow and baby blue) and star-printed jeans… That is why I totally embrace what I have seen this far. Super like on the peacoat, the thigh-high suede boots, the knit and the slight flared jeans with a simple, crisp white shirt. The ad campaign is featuring gorgeous Andreea Diaconu and is photographed by Karim Sadli.

Proenza Schouler FW13
There has been a lot of black and white graphics at New York Fashion Week this season, and Proenza Schouler is no exception. The exccentric duo behind the brand, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, has been working with tweed bouclé (with implemented leather) and guipure lace in this collection, a more sophisticated side that hasn’t been seen before. We could spot a lot of laser-cut details in the collection, both dresses and shoes. One laser-cut material looked like a fusion between leopard and hearts and made a beautiful pattern – a pattern that also was printed on the leather clutches in the model ‘The Large Lunch Bag’ (love the name). For this collection they have implemented fur details in the bags – we could spot shearling and black pony-hair (again!) that created a lovely combination between the coat and bag. There was one piece that was just absolutely amazing and that was the chain dress with hundreds of thin threaded chains all worked together in modern armour. Over all the collection was amazing and I love the idea of a slight more sophisticated vibe over Proenza Schouler but still remaining the playfullness and the utterly cool looks.
Altuzarra FW13
Simple, sexy and fierce looks at Altuzarra Fall 2013 show. Black and white monochrome styles domimated the collection and were accompanied by fur coats and fur accessories – like the fur mittens (that we also spotted at the Alexander Wang show). The buckle details on the boots and the ankle shoes, well the total look of the shoes reminds me of the Guess Marciano x Elin Kling collaboration. Take a look for yourself here. Anyway, it’s a great collection for this fall and I am excited to spot in in editorials and on fashionistas for this fall.
Pierre Balmain
Speaking of Balmain, the Pierre Balmain S/S13 collection looks real nice. I haven’t spotted the pieces in stores yet (more than the tee’s), but I can’t wait to see more of it. Graphic white and black (which is huge right now) is mixed up with romantic, yet modern silhouettes. The collection is inspired by French glamour and the style of iconic Jeanne Moreau, who was a French actress in the 60’s. The campaign and lookbook feature model Anna Selezneva photgraphed by Karim Sadli.
Saglio styling
I can’t get enough of Géraldine Saglio and her styling for the moment, and I really like her work for the latest issue of Vogue Paris December/January 2012/2013 (their smacked Christmas issue). She has not only styled iconic supermodel Christy Turlington shot by Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, but also Malgosia Bela in a super cool editorial inside Ferber Studios photographed by Lachlan Bailey. So I have picked some of my favourite looks from the Christmas issue in this post.
First out is Christy: love the tube top with a simple pair of black pants with a statement-belt, like this one from Balmain. Again, here is that belly peek….and perfectly styled with a pair of ankle-short black trousers. Super nice to add a pair of white shoes with that, even though I am a bit tired of those white pointy Céline pumps… In the ‘Le Ciel dans un Chambre’-editorial Malgosia looks super fly in a striped top paired with a red suede skirt as well as in the flared denim pants styled with a white thick knitwear. And hey, I want that Gucci horse-bit necklace in gold!
