Spotted some great pieces in the Balenciaga Fall 2013 Capsule collection by Alexander Wang. I am utterly in love with the dress above (as well as the boots) and I just love the girly shapes and the androgyne styling. The way of styling a dress over a pair of trousers is just so effortless cool and something I must do for the fall. I have a hard time feeling comfortable in dresses (always feels to girly in some kind of way) and by styling the feminine garment with a pair of slinky trousers will definitely make me wear it more. I am also a big fan of the way Wang has worked with mixing materials together, like satin, velvet and crepe-twill, all in the same hue is such a beautiful way of creating cool pieces – and nobody knows it better than Wang. Double thumbs up for the new creative director!

Back to basic
Anja Rubik sitting in a sheer tank top and underwear smoking a cigarette in issue 38 of Self Service Magazine. Classic right? I got inspired by her boyish look and put together some t-shirt that are available online and in store for the moment. From the left: white short knitted muscle tee from T by Alexander Wang, tank top in nude with ‘Music’ print from Acne S/S13, black v-neck from Acne (love this model), sheer tank from Acne, satin bralette and black leather bra from T by Alexander Wang and black mesh underwear from Weekday. The creme white satin bralette is just gorgeous and would look great to style with a white power suit.
Wish List
Here are some stuff on my mind that also qualifies on my wish list for the moment. I am all about tank tops right now, even if it’s a bit too chilly for it. But I stack it underneath my cashmere knits and hope that I can start showing them off soon. These two comes from T by Alexander wang, beauties. When the spring starts to come I want to change my knitted scarf to a thinner one, and I wouldn’t mind this leopard silk scarf from Saint Laurent Paris (just in at My Theresa). Shoes that I want; suede sandals in navy from Gianvito Rossi (love these) and the embellished fur slippers from Céline… Accessories; sunglasses from Prada and stack rings from Dries Van Noten (love the silver/gold combo). And I need to update my perfume collection (as well as my make-up) and wouldn’t mind trying the Dries Van Noten for Frederic Malle perfume and getting myself some Chanel make.
Basics
I dig basics and I am not loyal to any specific brand. Constantly I am looking for that perfect tee and white, grey or black hue. Even though I have plenty of striped t-shirts and long sleeves I can never get enough. For me the quality is the most important factor a long with style (of course). However, you will basically (!) never find the perfect one. Saint Laurent have some crazy expensive ones, soft as silk though, wouldn’t mind trying.
Wangs first show
Nicolas Ghesquière was a genious who literally took Balenciaga to a whole new level in his fifteen years of service for the brand. I was skeptical at first to Wang, he is great of what he does at hos own self-titled brand, but I still found it very odd when they announced him as the creative director for the franch brand. Anyhow, I must say I am slightly wrong. I think this collection is surprisingly good. The Balenciaga silhouettes are still there, but in a different way. It’s elegant and raw, just like Wang’s own designs. I like the knotted silver bracelets and details on different pieces, the amazing deep green fur jacket and black suede boots. By the way, It’s going to be so exciting to see what kind of handbags and shoes Wang can design for Balenciaga that makes every fashionistas heart turnover (Ghesquière’s cash cow was the Motorcycle bag, and still is…).
Self Service cover
Totally in love with these two covers from the Self Service Magazine no. 38 Spring/Summer 2013 issue. The one above is featuring beautiful Bo Don in black, I think, Alexander Wang leather top/bustier (a lot of bustiers for the moment). And underneath, the one and only Anja Rubik. Absolutely one of my favorite super models of all times. Love her timeless and cool look. The covers are photographed by cool Collier Schorr, who said this about the covers: ‘A red lip is like a leather jacket, or a high heel: it says that someone is not afraid to be looked at.’ Pretty cool dude.
Alexander Wang Fall 2013
What an amazig collection! The combination of materials are fantastic as well as the looks. Apparently the first model made an entrance to the very famous champion-song ‘Eye of The Tiger’, which is the theme song to Rocky III. It become more clear that the collection had influences from Wang watching boxing when the models wear styled in boxing-inspired fur mittens and mohair-knitted slicked hoodies. Wang used brushed mohair to give it the material a much more hairy quality, a long with embroidered leather appliqués on alpaca, and overstitched astrakhan with silk threads. The colours were black, grey hues and rust-orange – all gorgeous colours for the fall. I loved the shoes! Sleek satin-slingback heels, the suede heels as well as the ribbed mohair ‘stocking’ ones.

Freezing
It is freakishly cold right now and at the moment my biggest problem is to find clothes that keep me warm! Yes, I know, huge problem right? But it is. There are no cool or stylish outerwear that keeps me warm, nore shoes… Well, maybe there are but I am not in the mood for it. Speaking of outerwear, I just spotted these two gorgeous pieces from the Alexander Wang Resort 2013 collection. They just recently arrived at Browns Fashion and don’t you just love them? The bomber is way too cold for these temperatures, but it will look great for spring. Although the leather croco-embossed gilet is perfect for now! If you layer the vest to some chunky knits or maybe some fur. Anyway, Wang’s collections are hot stuff right now! Especially when him turning the Creative Director of Balenciaga. And that is…intriguing.
Pelican wallet
Really nice snakeskin embossed leather wallet – named ‘Pelican’ from Alexander Wang. You’ll find it here.
