The huge music festival in Cali has begun, and I would just love to be there. Unfortunately, Coachella has to wait for another year for me. As every year the style inspiration and outfit inspo is massive if you dig the boho chic hippie-festival style. I haven’t got any pictures from this year, so for now I just giving you some inspiration from last year. I always find the off-dutie models dressing impeccable cool, like Hanne Gaby-Odiele, Kasia Struss, Jacquelyn Jablonski, Raquel Zimmerman, well the list can go on. And of course, Kate Bosworth (a long with Kate Moss) is kind of like the queen of festival styles.
I spotted these two pictures on Stockholm Streetstyle the other day. Aren’t the looks just perfect for this in-between period that is right now? A great mix of materials, prints and colors. Love the navy turtle-neck to those stunning silk pants from Dries Van Noten (and the Proenza Schouler Lunch bag), as well as the burgundy top to that navy goat fur and grey stonewashed jeans.
The most simple looks and outfits are the ones which appeals me the most from picture at the Fashion Weeks. The queen of Parisian chic is doubtless Emmanuelle Alt (above) looking great in a shearling coat with fur and a braided black belt in the waist, and (underneath) in black wool coat with satin details. Right behind Emmanuelle Alt, there are two parisians who dress impeccable cool as well and that are of course Capucine Safyurtlu and Géraldine Saglio. I read an article in the Net-à-Porter online magazine, where I found this spot on quote: “If anyone started the hands-free trend, it was the French. Hands are for front-row invites and smokes.” Very true, do we ever see the Parisians with a bag?
…is crocodile embossed bags for the moment. Especially bags from Givenchy. This clutch is one of the favourites, among the Pandora and Antigona bag. As in this picture, the croco-embossed clutch risen the whole outfit. The fuzzy knit and the black leather skirt creates a perfect combination with the bag – street style as it’s best. The idea of using different materials – but all in the same colour – makes this outfit perfect.
It has always been two persons I’ve been Google-ing when it comes to inspiration – during the time I’ve had the blog and waaay back as well. Of course Carine Roitfeld could be one of them (and trust me I do like her style) but actually not. Numero uno when it comes to fast inspo is the one and only Emmanuelle Alt (Editor in Chief Vogue Paris). She know how to dress impeccable cool, relaxed and with that french chic-ness that you wanna achieve. For an example, in the summer: a loose-fitted shirt, denim shirt or khaki-green cotton shirt, paired with a pair of low-waisted skinny jeans – styled with a statement belt (but very simple could be Balmain or Isabel Marant), a pair of delicate but yet very chic shoes (pointy pumps of any kind, Valentino, Isabel Marant, Dolce & Gabbana heeled mesh sandals…) and top the whole look of with her jewellery: a classic ‘Tank Francoise’ watch in gold or silver with a leather strap from the french brand Cartier, a statment ‘Collier de Chien’ bracelet from Hermès and her own personal bracelets and rings. In the winter: just add a modern and cool, yet classic, fur coat, woolen peacock coat or a perfect leather (Balenciaga, Balmain, Isabel Marant…) with a pair of heeled pointy ankle boots – and you have got the style.
Alt’s right hand is for sure stylist and editor Géraldine Saglio (as you see in the pictures as well…). Her style is very alike the Alt style – french, simple and cool. Classic staples are: wide-flared jeans, chunky knitwears, knee-high suede boots and statement jeans (Current Elliott, Isabel Marant…).
Lately there is one person I’ve been begin to ‘style-stalke’. She is on the ‘Alt-French-Vogue’ team and one of the editors at the magazine. She has also been called Alt’s Mini-Me and her name is Capucine Safyurtlu. Lately I’ve been spotting her next to Alt and Saglio always at every fashion week – and her style is super cool. A mix of the best from Emmanuelle Alt and Géraldine Saglio.
Capucine Safyurtlu styles classic and modern jackets, coats and furs with skinny jeans and – of course a belt – always with a naturell and fresh make-up and floating hair. Boyfriend-fitted jeans, loose t-shirts in the palette of grey, black and white and pointy pumps are staples in her wardrobe. Love it!
