Balmain Resort

Balmain Resort 2014 Denim on denimThere were two looks which were smashing in the Balmain Resort 2014 collection, and that was the denim looks – especially the one above – denim paired with denim. The harnesses are just super cool, as well as the genius idea to style it with an over-sized crisp white shirt (so simple) – as well as all the gold accessories (what is a Balmain collection without its’s gold?). I am definitely going to do a copy cat on the look above, maybe in a more subtle way though.

MMM

Maison Martin Margiela Resort 2014-2I know there has been a lot of Resort collections on the blog lately, but there has been so many good ones! I am absolutely overwhelmed by the spot on styles and pieces, not only by the brands I am usually obsessing over. The latest one to show is Masion Martin Margiela, and I am usually not a big fan, but this collection really surprised me. I love the white look above with the peacock coat, the knee-lenght of the dress and the thigh-high boots. I am all about simplicity and the feeling of effortless cool, and I think MMM nailed it in this collection. I mean, I definitely want that black jumpsuit (crepe-de-chin top with trousers) right now!

Barefoot attitude

Chloé Resort 2014 yellow trench coatOkey, I just love this look above from the Chloé Resort 2014 line, is absolutely amazing! As I mentioned before, yellow is the color for Spring 2014. The entire collection is beautiful, I have got tons of looks on my mind for the spring – like the pin striped denim trench coat paired with the denim boyfriend jeans, the ankle long striped skirt styled with a simple white shirt, and the wide trousers (!) both in white and navy paired with flats. Oh, my the flats are gorgeous, especially the slippers… The creative director for Chloé, Clare Waight Keller, stated that the trousers in this collection gives you room for her “barefoot attitude” – a statement I totally fell for. Waight Keller wanted the proportions to be just right, and sandals, as well as slippers, feels super hot to pair to both a chill and more dressed-up looks for just that perfect relaxed proportions.

Stella Resort

Stella McCartney Resort 2014-1I just had to show some of my favorite pieces from the Stella McCartney Resort 2014 line. I am totally in love with the one shoulder jumpsuit and the boxy python dress with long sleeves. We have been seen a lot of yellow fabrics in the Resort-collection for 2014, a light yellow hue, which also the Olsen-twins worked with in their collection from The Row. Stella paired her yellow dress with baby pink (!) mules, which also is a big trend for 2014. We will see a lot of pink, especially baby pink pieces. Overall is a nice collection from Stella McCartney, but I wouldn’t say I am blown away. Although there are some accessories which are making me quite excited, especially the black slouchy shoulder bag with white sides…

My favorite looks

The Row Resort 2014-9

I just had to post my favorite looks from The Row Resort 2014 collection, which are quite a few. As you know by now, I am a huge fan of theirs (and their personal styles as well). As always The Row delivers. I love the hues and the colors, canvas-beigen, olive green, navy, light grey, and the up and coming color (that not only The Row showed, but also Stella McCartney and Louis Vuitton) — light yellow. For this Resort line, Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen said they were looking at uniforms — of sailors, of Japanese workers, of school children — for ideas this season. The thing about the Olsen twins is that they have this amazing eye for fabrics. They make pieces out of the best of the best materials and combine these in beautiful set-ups, like satin and denim, cashmere and canvas. As we can see they stay put to what they love and believe in. For an example they have always highlighted the flats, ever since The Row’s very beginning. And of course, it is implemented in this collection, as well as the semi-long and ankle-long skirts. Well, it is true love as always.

More Resort

Marc Jacobs Resort 2014-2 Marc Jacobs Resort 2014-1 Marc Jacobs Resort 2014The Resort lines for 2014 has been very strong and I have seen some amazing pieces and combinations. First of all, there were some fabulous looks from the Marc Jacobs Resort line of 2014 that I just want to copy straight away. I do not usually fall head over heels over his collection but in this Resort line there were some strong looks. Among others these three above with pieces in silk, satin and fur styled with underwear and my favorite accessory for the moment – flats. Max Mara is also a brand that delivered. In their Resort line I had two looks which were my favorites which was the head-to-toe black and the head-to-toe white suit. Kind of dig the idea of pairing a cap to the more dressed-up-look, as well as styling the fur scarf, underneath the suit jacket.

Max Mara Resort 2014-2 Max Mara Resort 2014-1Another brand with a strong Resort collection was Adam Lippes. Simple and effortless looks with that gorgeous feminine touches, such as satin robes and kitten-heeled slip-in’s.  But there were also pieces that embrace masculinity with wide trousers and silk pants with sporty influences. I love these combinations and I am absolutely crushing over those heels for the moment… Wouldn’t mind them both in black and white (!).

Elizabeth & James

Elisabeth & James Resort 2014The Olsen twin’s more price friendly line (comparing to The Row…), Elizabeth & James just showed their Resort 2014 collection. Oh yes, the resort lines have been dropping in one after another the latest couple of days. I love the resort lines, they are quite small but often highlights the most important trends for the coming season. In this collection I just loved the combination of styling denim with denim, the flat sandals, the skirts in knee-lenght and of course the headband (!). Love it, and I am so going to start using the ones I’ve got.
