Skinny heels by French brand Vetements. The brands on everyones lips at the moment. Well not really, but more or less. You didn’t miss Kanye West turning up in one of their oversized hoodies on fashion week in Paris right? Even though the hoodie might not be the to-die piece in their fall collection, I am admiring their aesthetic and how they work with proportions. Several designers in the team have a background at Margiela, so maybe it is not that surprising. And if you look closer at their collections, you will see that there are several signature shapes taken just from Margiela. Anyways, I do like their skinny heels.
Self Service Magazine always list their essentials for the annual summer vacation. Well, not their own essentials, more or less people in their surroundings and peeps in the industry. I have just recently been in Italy and one of the stops where in Positano, where you can find a beautiful selection of straw bags. There were so many chic bags you get craze mazed, like this Pampleonne basket above from Sarah Lavoine, and I really wanted to get one but didn’t know how to pack it on my way home… Classic, right?
The exclusive collection between Byredo and Barney’s New York is simply fantastic. Ben Gorham has created simple luxury travel luggage along with hand bags and accessories in a line called Nécessaire de Voyage Collection. A have huge (read huge) cravings for this particular one above. I am really on the hunt for a beige bag since all my hand bags are in darker leather tones. Anyway all the items in the collection are made with a beautiful precision of details and quality, leaving me simply over impressed. The bags are sold exclusively at Barney’s here in New York but also in Byredo’s own first American boutique that recently opened up its doors in New York’s SoHo. The shop is simply fantastic with its items and interior.
Seeing stripes at the moment… Like a crazy person. And how many striped top don’t I already have in my closet? Too many. Did get myself I really cool Comme Des Garcon a while ago, not the classic cotton though. I got my hands on one from Junya Watanabe in spandex-ish fabric. Super nice.
