As I’ve mentioned before, the American luxury brand The Row is my absolute favourite, in well, almost every category. The Olsen sisters has this amazing eye for fine materials, fantastic lines and wearable pieces. Don’t even get me started on the bags… Anyway, for this pre-fall collection they have worked with a classic palette of black, crisp cream, camel, brown and burgundy in materials such as satin, cashmere and wool. The mink fur is absolutely amazing as well as the camel coat paired with burgundy. There is also a touch of Asia, as we can see in the look with the white shirt, black trousers and the obi belt, as well in the jacquard woven look with embroidered flowers. The Row isn’t the first one flirting with the East. In the Balmain Pre-Fall 2013 collection there were a lot of Asian vibes and influences in both suit jackets and dresses. Something I hope we will see a lot more of in the main ready-to-wear collections for this fall.
