For Vogue Japan December 2012, Steven Pa has photographed Kasia Strauss for the editorial ‘A Big Time Story’. The feature, which is styled by Vanessa Traina, is full of statement pieces from the Fall and Winter 2012 collections, like the short tweed jacket from Stella McCartney, the famous pair of lace-up heels in white and navy from Balenciaga, the block-coloured Céline pullover and the red satin Haider Ackermann long-sleeved top. I like the editorial a lot, but I feel quite fed up at these pieces for the moment. Especially since we have seen them in almost every magazine during the fall. Looking forward to Resort and Spring 2013, and not one moment too late!
So I am not celebrating New Years here at home in the cold, that’s why I wouldn’t mind looking like these two wish outfits the coming days. First out (the one above) all white outfit: Balmain shirt with golden buttons, python clutch from The Row, gorgeous flared trousers from Stella McCartney, the ‘Tate’ suit jacket in white from Acne, studded silver sandals from Valentino, thin necklace with wishbone from Cornelia Webb and glasses from Balmain. Underneath, a bit more french and rock’n’roll with leather pants from the lovely blogger Elin Kling’s collab with Guess Marciano, shirt (again) from Balmain, watch from Cartier, sunglasses from Ray Ban, shoulder bag in dark grey from Céline and a pair of goregous lace-up boots from Balmain Spring 2013 collection. Just some classic and great pieces!
Say hello to this gorgeous shoulder bag from Hermès! The ‘Berline Bag’ was first introduced in Fall 2011, but I haven’t really put so much thought of it since now. The bag comes in eight different colours but this dark grey and white ones are my favourites. I like the idea of a shoulder bag with removable strap so that you could easily wear it as a clutch as well. And of course, the Kelly turnlock is a favourite of mine.
In the latest issue of ELLE France Ben Morris has photographed beautiful Liya Kebede, both for this editorial and for the cover. Kind of dig the simple everyday styling by Anne-Marie Brouillet, with the famous satin bird baseball jacket from Proenza Schouler, and the massive fur vest to the that jumpsuit in white from Agnes B. Simple chic french styling as it’s best.
According to Style.com, Swedish Tilda Lindstam was the model with the flow this year. She walked 68 catwalk shows, including hard-to-land brands such as Calvin Klein, Céline and Givenchy. 20-year old Tilda was not only fully booked by the most well-know fashion houses in the business, her quirky, relaxed and grungy style was also captured by streetstyle photographers such as Tommy Ton. We will probably see a lot more of this Swedish beauty in 2013, can’t wait! I love her look and it’s always inspiring with new faces.
This round-frame acetate model above, from Illesteva, is one of my favourite styles in the Illesteva family of sunglasses. Totally dig the new print with olive, grey, creamy white and brown – although it reminds me of a pair of glasses from Céline S/S11. Anyway, if you have the same cravings as me, you can get the hip glasses right here.
Sorry for the lack of updates but I thought, since it has been Christmas and all, you guys wouldn’t mind. Hope you all had an amazing Christmas with your friends and family. I thought I would get some of you out of the Christmas-mode and into the New Years-mode with this beautiful editorial from Vogue China December 2012. Liu Wen looks amazing in Dries Van Noten, Vintage Dior, Proenza Schouler, Balmain, Jean-Paul Gaultier and Dolce & Gabbana. If you are a bit insecure of your choice of outfit at New Years, black and gold is a classic combination that always work. I myself is going to work something similiar, or anyway that’s what I had in mind for now at least…
Wouldn’t mind looking like this today at Christmas Eve: striped long-sleeved cotton top from Proenza Schouler, red burgundy pants from The Row, white coat from Baserange, see-through pumps ‘Bis-un-Boit’ from Christian Louboutin, a white small shoulder bag from The Row, a pair of goregous earrings in rosé-gold from Repossi and an id-bracelet from Maison Martin Margiela.
I really dig this super cool editorial in the January 2013 issue of Harper’s Bazaar Spain. Carmen Kass is photgraphed by Nico in sportwear and traineers paired with beautiful fur coats. I love the combination of the unexpected match. I also like the idea that they have styled Carmen in luxury watches and jewellery, with the sporty pieces. Excersice in style right?
A huge trend for the spring is loop-earrings. Balmain showed a fantastic pair in silver, here, for their spring 2013 collection. Even though they are amazing I would find them impossible to wear more than perhaps a few times going out. But for an everyday use I like loop-earrings but in a smaller version, like these créoles above. Stephanie Jewels mini creoles with chain in 14-karat gold are just to-die-for, and a perfect pair of earrings that you can wear every day.
